The lack of any mention of the Skylift in connection with this Lakefront news has me wondering.

Aaron Goldhammer, from DENVER COLORADO could not be happier for Cleveland. It's noteworthy that while LeBron mentioned Kyrie, Anderson, Tristan in the letter he did not specifically mention Andrew Wiggins.

Oh no. An owl at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo just predicted that LeBron is choosing Miami. It's a sad, sad day for the Zoo, and for all of NE Ohio.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Heard on 92.3 that some Browns players don't want Josh Gordon back. And for what it's worth, Gordon has promised the team that he will stay out of trouble.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
I feel the same way about Connie Schultz ha ha. But yeah, I usually cannot figure out the point that Kevin O'Brien's is trying to make. I am going to guess that he's trying to be Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
Didn't read it yet, but I just don't get Kevin O'Brien. Does he really mean what he writes? Is he actually a Troll? [edit] I actually don't think it was that bad. He was attempting to be funny. But yep, he's trolling!!

Step Up Cleveland at Hoyt Block
You can liven it up and still keep the rain garden though. It's a good design that keeps excess runoff from polluting the lake. We actually need much more of that kind of thing here.

Step Up Cleveland at Hoyt Block
I certainly applaud this effort. One of the greatest obstacles is that virtually none of our good areas are connected. Yet I don't think some of the ideas go far enough however. For example, E 9th and W 3rd still look kinda terrible in the renderings. Perhaps they're the short term fixes mentioned. One curious idea is the re-do of Willard Park. They just went through the trouble to establish a rain garden there. It's functional. It looks really nice. And now they want to redesign just for the heck of it? If you want a community garden there's got to be plenty of ugly, unused space where that would be a vast improvement.

Columbus Crew Discussion
Agree I like AC and SC, especially since lets face it, it's hard to pick a nickname nowadays that's cool or original. That was proven with the horrid announcement of the Kansas City Wiz. (Let's go Wiz!) I am digging the use of heritage names ie Sounders, Earthquakes, Whitecaps and Timbers. That still leaves room for the Rowdies, Strikers, Kicks, Roughnecks and Force to get to MLS someday :-)

But Love averages 26/12. Can we be sure Wiggins can ever approach that?

Columbus Crew Discussion
I too am excited for a rebrand. While not horrible, there is something about the Crew logo that just makes it too "not legitimate" in my opinion. Just a small point of clarification, Chicago was not a founding member of the MLS, they were an expansion and the Wizards started as the Wiz. That being said, I thought the Fire had the best shield/crest and name of the league when they joined. Now, I would argue the best names and crests are the Galaxy, Timbers, and Sounders, uniquely American. I disagree with ryanlammi in that I think we should the word football out of MLS and FC out of clubs names. The MLS is the U.S.'s league and should not try to be Europe. We call it soccer here, and the league itself calls it soccer. Let's be honest, the NFL and NCAA are not changing football to anything else, nor should they. I would be in favor of clubs using AC (athletic club) or SC (sporting club), but not FC. Which brings me to another point, Salt Lake using Real in their name. Really, what is royal about the club or the city of Salt Lake? I could maybe see the argument of Charlotte or Cincinnati using Real as they have the nickname of Queen City, but in the end, just call it Royal. I like the name "Real Salt Lake" to me it's okay. There's no Kings per say in Los Angeles or Sacramento but sounds okay for a sports nickname. And "real" is used in California enough that one can argue it's Americanized. In general I like the change up of having the nickname in front of the city. I always rooted for Dynamo Kiev - loved the name! What sounds better Houston Dynamo or Dynamo Houston? I like the latter.

Good point re: liability. But since the Science Center and Rock Hall are there I'm supposing that it's not that great a hurdle.

Also, there's to be a "welcome home" party at LeBron's place in Bath. Though, admittedly that might not mean welcome "home" to the Cavs.

^ SPeaking of serious momentum on Lorain...I stopped by Platform Brewing for a quick peek on my way home from work Friday. Very very cool. A fine addition to the hood. I'm in constant amazement that so much classic architecture has remained standing along the entire street. I dare say it reminds me a little of pics of Cincy. http://www.ohio.com/blogs/the-beer-blog/the-beer-blog-1.273124/platform-beer-ready-for-cleveland-debut-1.501408
