Lakewood: Development and News
For the record, the Church next to the proposed Microbrewery are fighting this. They are making some pretty ridiculous and frankly even reckless comments to drum up opposition.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Main reason why they have to bring those pavers all the way through the Square, and not just in the middle.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Enough of this meaningless drivel. What's the plan of attack for the UO party that will help commemorate this great project??

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Another good point you bring up; the design elements seem simple, yet comfortable and fully functional. The empty grass fields in the current plan that look nice in renderings could be meaningless, unutilized space for most of the year.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Right. Which is one of the many reason's why we should have simply pointed our fingers at Bryant Park, and told the Powers That Be to just "do that." Would've been so easy, and it could have saved the public how much in consulting fees lol.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Absolutely. And they've managed to create an enjoyable environment that serves all four seasons. http://missbinnyc.blogspot.com/2010/12/fire-pit.html This could work so well for PS, especially considering the foot traffic going through there day after day.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Because retail = life. And retail owners = stakeholders in making sure the areas are clean, welcoming and overall attractive. Not only that, the leasing generates actual revenues for managing maintenance. It just makes so much sense. I'd encourage you (and everyone) if you're unfamiliar to image search for Bryant Park in NYC to see such a great mix of retail livelihood and serene greenspace. http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2009/11/26/arts/27spare/articleLarge.jpg

Lake Erie
^ Very cool I'm sending that around!

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
I don't think they need to have more dedicated retail/food within the square itself. It's a small enough space that you could line the square with more quality retail in the existing buildings that surround PS. Whatever new construction happens to close the gaping west section of the Square, we can all hope that it's the opposite of the vibrancy-killers that currently exist. And yes the existing buildings that can - should retrofit somehow if at all possible. Best case (aka dream) scenario is a diverse and continuous shopping district that filters through and beyond both out and along the river and also PS side of Tower City that connects Euclid Ave, Warehouse, FEB, etc.

Cleveland: Downtown: Residences at 1717
What is also intriguing is the very bad smell emanating from this building. What in the world are they doing lol. It's like they're uncovering more and more "must" and there's a neverending supply.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I am wondering what the long term strategy is for parking on both sides of the river. Even something similar to the West Side Market mixed use TOD guideline plan would make us feel a lot better.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Neat. Pardon my ignorance, but is Millenium Park anything like Public Square? I've never been. But I have heard that the Mall could be our version of it someday. Speaking of art installations, I'd say PS is ripe for something interesting. The renderings look nice but sort of bland.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
--more retail space available...one cafe is not going to cut it (long lines!) and competition and variety and more leasing is a good thing. --use quality pavers on the entire stretch of Superior to better define the "square" --though the ice rink is cool, the water park is much better suited for the sunnier and roomier mall What do you guys think?

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
From what I can recall, there's some ADA concerns about fully opening it up to the public.

The BEER Thread
Two of the major "problems" with marijiana, the idea that is a "gateway drug" and the fact that you don't always know exactly what you are getting, are actually a product of its illegality, not of the drug itself. Absolutely.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
That's what the sign said, but I can't help but think of the "remodeling" or "reopening soon" kinda signs I've seen over the years where nothing ever happened. I liked them too. Well, I didn't like their hours.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
I was there @ ABC during Hessler Street Fair. Waited at the bar for maybe 10 minutes and though it wasn't crowded, I never got any service from either of the bartenders. I thought to myself that would never happen on W 25th...shoulda knew something was up.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
Paul do you have any idea how or if they are going to incorporate the downstairs?
-
Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
Nah, just build more of 'em, this time on north side of Lake to replace those el cheapo ranch houses. Well, that I will support.
-
Cleveland: Euclid Avenue trees
Why...why did you have to tell me this? Anyhow, I'll check UO later after I JOIN THE TEA PARTY.
-
Cleveland: Euclid Avenue trees
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the answers are Yes to all your questions. Now I kinda want to know just how much these doomed trees are costing us. Actually, no I don't want to know...

Cleveland: Whiskey Island Coast Guard Station Redevelopment
^ the proverbial diamond in the rough!!!

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
Sure that's the busy side of the road for the commute downtown. I'm definitely psyched to hear about these expansion and reno plans!!

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
So, maybe they should go a few stories taller?
