Much bigger city than I realized. Thanks for posting!
  2. I heard that too.... Spent 10 min this am digging in the dark for the only red shirt I could find... MY GOOD LUCK VINTAGE 1987 NJ DEVILS SHIRT!!!! Game over. We win.

I think we may need a VS. PARKING LOTS thread.
  4. Interesting point. I don't see any closers today who are anything close to Trevor Hoffman or Mariano Rivera. Loved seeing Masterson coming out of the pen!
  5. The tone of Greg Brinda's voice just about summed up the feelings of every Tribe fan! This is such a strange season. Having your closer lose his mind with four games left somehow fits perfectly into the strangeness of it.
  6. The pictures on the inside show no structural cracks in walls or compromised ceiling supports. Just because water is leaking in doesn't mean its in danger of collapse. http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/landmark/agenda/2013/09122013/index.php So I am more inclined to question Cleveland Clinic's motives based on their history of preservation and adaptive reuse.... They have none. But that guy with the hardhat was so convincing ha ha. This building is irreplaceable. It's soulful and historic. There should be pressure on the Clinic to do the right thing. Don't we all want Euclid Ave to be special?
  7. When is the Urban Ohio soft open?
  8. That came across as cryptic. Or are you out of town?
  9. Excellent. As the park becomes more of a destination this could help out a lot.
  10. My friends family owns a restaurant on W. 6th. I hate this, but they - and other business owners - have very shortsighted views on developing the parking lots.
  11. It's usually really good imho. Though the game wasn't on every tv, as you know the bartenders are super cool, and they're usually receptive to channel requests.
  12. Make sure it's Draconian. I actually like the idea. One way to subsidize some new housing since the market won't raise rents to allow developers to build. And the city gets new residents, payroll taxes, etc.... So do I. Let's start working on/against those who are bound to oppose this.
  13. I hi-fived everyone at the Happy Dog!!!
  14. Ha ha, sure! Being at Ingenuity this weekend was insightful. Good crowds flocking to North Coast Harbor, always good to see. With a little bit of imagination it's easy to envision how the Stadium can become something of a complimentary attraction within the Lakefront Plan.
  15. North of the Shoreway, you can see how confusing the entrance to/inside the Park is. Cars often just sit there frozen, unsure of where to go, creating a danger for other drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. Maybe better signage is the real issue? But I've often seen cars go in the wrong direction or even pull onto the pedestrian path. In San Diego they installed roundabouts along the beach route (La Jolla). It took a few years for drivers to get used to it, but they function beautifully now.
  16. Wow, that's unfortunate. It's pretty obvious this road is a compromise between two sides who could not win the argument : "Should it be a boulevard or a freeway?" So.... "Gosh, how about both," said some bureaucrat we'll probably never meet. As the old saying goes, "A camel is a thoroughbred designed by a government committee." Like you I really did not want off/on ramps, but this is looking alright to me, at least aesthetically. Anyhow, just look north of that red square aka "Edgewater Link." What a nightmare that entrance to Edgewater Park is. Fixing that confusing bottleneck is going to be imperative.
  17. ^ what's the restaurant like? Heck I'll drop by to support it.
  18. There's something so regal about that color. Nice break in the dreaded tan/beige/gray that's so prevalent here.
  19. My fingers are crossed for something truly transformative. It's an election year for the mayor and next year is an election year for the Governor. It may be big because if it's just a token effort that may not get these guys the impact they are looking for from this project. Kasich/Jackson 2014!!!
  20. My fingers are crossed for something truly transformative.
  21. And Key (Tower) is a great example of how NOT to have a building interact with its surroundings on the ground floor. EDIT: I prefer positive reinforcement to convey a message. I prefer to say what I want to see happen rather what I don't want to see happen. Problem is, we don't have any hotels downtown I can think of with a ground floor that interacts well with its surroundings. Can someone else think of a positive example? Ugh, with Key's ground floor the word foreboding comes to mind...retrofit possibility? But yeah, the hotel is going to have to counterbalance the Justice Center dead zone!, the Group Plan buildings and Key Tower.
  22. Great point. How this thing interacts on the ground floor is going to be key.
