  1. Wait, what? It is? holy $hit how did I end up here? My realtor lied to me! Now don't go and resort to violence...
  2. I understand your point. And I've said nothing to disagree. But now I will add that there have been three incidents where I've had friends on Detroit Ave who were in fact minding their own business only to have guns pointed at their heads in robberies. One event I managed to luckily avoid by sheer seconds, and it led to a guy getting shot in the head (survived) trying to be a good Samaritan. p.s. EVERY section of Cleveland is adjacent to an area where violent crime happens.
  3. I don't think he was on the street. I'm wondering that since the victims family went to "check up" on him, that he might have been found inside? It's not explicit in the article.
  4. That's basically on the edge of the odd, unpopulated suburban looking stretch along Detroit.

Yes! Aaron Goldhammer on WKNR used to read this scouting report over and over. "Lacks basketball skills? How is he in the league? The sport is BASKETBALL!" It will never cease to be hilarious!
  6. Just stumbled across this article. All good Libertarians are pro-transit Nowadays you propose a train system and (L)’s and ®’s scream “socialism.” For me, that’s a serious WTF moment. Because railroads were PRIVATE ENTITIES THAT SUCCESSFULLY FOUGHT FREE PUBLIC COMPETITION FOR NEARLY FORTY YEARS. http://keephoustonhouston.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/all-good-libertarians-are-pro-transit/
  7. Interesting. That's the section that the city once contended was in danger of collapsing. Glad to hear there's a brighter future ahead, ya know, vs. it collapsing.

I think CLE/NEO is a great untapped market for pro hockey. Plenty of built in rivalries like Chicago, Toronto, Buffalo, Columbus, Detroit and of course - Pittsburgh! As far as I know a Columbus-Cleveland sports rivalry is unprecedented. Maybe old NFL? But I agree. I'd love to see NHL in Cleveland. For now I'll be enjoying the Monsters games and the excellent, fan-friendly value. I don't think they would put a team in cleveland as long as there is one in columbus. You're probably right. That being said, I don't think fan support for Jackets/Crew reaches into Northeast Ohio all that much. In fact if I were those franchises I'd schedule more exhibitions in Cleveland.

^ Awesome! I've visited Bob Zimmer's Baseball Heritage Museum in Colonial Fifth Street Arcade. It's pretty incredible. I wish more people knew about it.
  10. Would German Village in Columbus be a better comparison? German majority of population is long gone. That neighborhood has just a few remaining ethno-centric businesses, but it's just enough to continue the air of tradition.

  12. RIght on. ODOT reliant projects are the most disappointing. With that sort of timeline, it makes me wonder if we might as well wait for glaciers to return to finally wipe out the shoreway. Then we can just start over. Funny you mention that...by this July, there will be a huge Glacier right over the Shoreway. Its the public Art component of the 76th street tunnel, and it is going to look really awesome. Trying to get my hands on renderings... The best art is functional! This glacier could accelerate things quite nicely for us ha ha.

  14. Except that was MH who said it. Ha. I need glasses.

They're the New York Yankees of the AHL. Many many years of success.

Ed Fitzgerald was interviewed by Bill Wills on WTAM this morning. Fitzgerald said Kasich has been a lousy governor and that he could do a better job. Wills pressed him a bit on running against Kasich, but Fitzgerald seems legitimately undecided at this point. He thinks he'll need about $20 million to run a viable campaign, saying that was a daunting proposition. Wills, a conservative, was very complimentary and supportive of Fitzgerald. However, Wills wished Fitzgerald would serve out another term at the County, and Fitzgerald admitted he'd be glad to do just that.
  17. Agree. It looks very sheik.
  18. That's fantastic! Thanks for the insight, as this will certainly be an excellent addition to OC.
  19. Like I said, cart before the horse.
  20. I love that intersection, lotsa potential KJP. I know it's way cart-before-the-horse, but that intersection would look so much better with a streetscape program. We've surely got our share of ugly looking pavement around these parts.
  21. Great news!! p.s. I hope Pierre's Ice cream (Euclid Ave) is taking note of Mitchell's tactic to improve public access to its products.
  22. This isn't a one way road, however. Won't the the interchange give consumers easier access to Gordon Square? Anyhow, the scaled down, freeway-centric version of this project is fairly disappointing to most everyone in some way.
  23. Sure here ya go: http://parkviewniteclub.com/index.htm
  24. I can't say enough good things about this.
