Boston and Cape Cod
Great pics! Fenway looks terrific. Cape Cod looks like the nicest parts of the Jersey Shore, only condensed into island size.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Oh, oh man what a comparison. Remember Ricky's Renegades? And the infamous Triple Double attempt??

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
It's the way the team was built around James; it was dysfunctional. The way the team struggled whenever LeBron wasn't in the lineup was shocking. You're right, credit getting Kyrie for what it's worth. But again I can't ignore the record. It sucks. This crappy team is absolutely unwatchable. Someone in our office keeps offering me free tickets. Sorry, not going. I'd rather pay money and see the Monsters.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Simple. He's the man in charge of this crap product. Dan gets a break because he's liked, and can get by on his charisma way more than Lerner and Dolan ever could. But the bottom line is wins and losses. I'm not sure how you can really measure it any other way. And re: LeBron, it's Dan's fault the franchise made the perilous decision to put all of it's faith in building around one player.

You gotta hand it to Dan Gilbert. He's somehow managed to run a franchise that is even more pathetic than the Browns and Indians.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
Found this today, interesting mention of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_vault/2013/01/08/lynching_map_tuskegee_institute_s_data_on_lynching_from_1900_1931.html These numbers can seem antiseptic. Upon the release of the Tuskegee Report in 1916, the Cleveland Plain Dealer sought to put a face to the statistics by describing the relatively minor crimes that provoked some of the year's lynchings (while noting that at least four of the people killed were later proved innocent): One was charged with being accessory to burning a barn. One was accused to [sic] stealing cotton. A family of four, including two daughters, was slaughtered for clubbing an officer. Three were lynched for poisoning mules, and two for stealing hogs. Two were strung up for furnishing ammunition to a man who was resisting arrest.

That's a sexy looking stadium.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
The redesign was based on feedback from customers and RTA's Citizens Advisory Board. That board is still pushing for some design tweaks. Members would like to see clearly marked areas for luggage and bikes, along with a bike rack, said board member John McGovern. The advisory board pushed for seating parallel to walls, rather than row seating, but was told the change would be too expensive, McGovern said. John Mc GOV ern...that name sounds familiar ha ha.

Cleveland: Downtown: Residences at 1717
Ha ha! Couldn't there be a constructive, business-friendly way to promote conversion to ground level retail? Tax incentives? Street-killing architecture has a dramatic, negative effect on any city - we all know that. We should incentivize change any way possible. Get creative. Or even penalize the owners of the dead zones if need be. If this increases available storefronts then sure, more vacant space (as X said) but the rental costs should go down even more. Then with cheaper rents, another whole class of small businesses can afford to front the risk and have access into the market.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
No Templin place is different; it's visible right along the shoreway, just west of Battery park.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
Check this out. It's the Pizza Port, one of the most popular small-chain restaurants in Southern California. I don't see any reason why Cleveland wouldn't like this festive, traditional kind of setup.

Communal tables are pretty cool.

Textbook deadzone! Parking garages don't have to be this bad, just look at Fat Fish Blue/Tilted Kilt. This is where my office is and man it's depressing walking down the street.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Rising Star! Cool spot for sure. I'm loyal to Phoenix, but RS is my second favorite. To me the most exciting thing is witnessing the cool neighborhood expansion. Fun to envision that the "dead" areas could some day be filled in; a day when there are no worn and tired gaps between Flats/Tremont/OC/Shoreway/Lakewood.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I believe that when you get close to the water you need to be sensitive to shading out too much of the area. I'm cool with more density, but I don't want our waterfront to be cast in shade for most of the day like the rest of downtown.

Med Mart/Convention Center Hardhat Tour 12-12-12
Exactly right KJP. That is the weak link in the chain, so to speak. The connections are getting closer but we still need something more. It's going to take an extraordinary plan to finally correct this.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
^ I'll take it. Now I'd love to see if they can improve the abysmal street presence of the parking garage.
