Westlake's gift to the world - Crocker Park
The plaza with the fireplace and kiosks, love it. It's a nice little mini-slice of NYC's Bryant Park. Why this type of warm and inviting setup has not been emulated on Public Square is beyond me.

Cleveland: Slavic Village: Development and News
He knew that destroying his mom’s house was “the good Christian thing to do.” But it was still hard. The first strike by the large backhoe smashed through the back window where his mother used to sit in her living room. “When he pulled that wall down, I just wanted to yell out, ‘No. Stop. Stop. I’ll fix the house’,” he said. “It was very emotional.” So emotional that the next day he drove to Holy Cross Cemetery where his parents are buried to explain what he had done. But to his surprise, he was calm. He joked that his trips to the cemetery normally feature him “apologizing” to his parents for various things. But this time, he said, “It was different. It’s the first time I went out there and I wasn’t apologizing to Mom. I knew this was the right thing to do.” Amazingly sad.

Great great idea. I'm wondering where all my sisters friends are going to go. They're certainly not going to be buying in Laguna Beach, that's for sure.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
Exactly. There was to be another building there, where the Old Stone Church was/is. Or maybe at least where the church offices/rectory are located. I'd love to see a tasteful mural put there, so that it complements the church. Or even better, windows and balconies would be tremendous. See the Broad and High project in Columbus for what I mean. p.s. The B&O Railroad facility looks very cool. Would love to see it restored.

MAC: General Conference News & Discussion
It'll be interesting to see how the teams can perform in the Bowls if their head coaches aren't there. I think Hazell is on the fence about it. Oh, and re: the MAC, there's been a huge push amongst Akron fans to lobby the Big East (and even Conf. USA) for consideration. Now the MAC looks much better off than both of those...what a difference a few months can make in this age!

In CLE: need advise with new business attire
MTS I am embarrassed that I can't even answer most of your (very pertinent) questions...I am ignorant but I know that there's help for me here starting here on this very forum! I'll find out more about my old suits tonight. They were given to my by my much more tasteful brother. I would seldom wear a suit outside of work. However I do need an infusion of dressier options (blazers and nice shirts/pants) for going out to dinner, etc. Oh, budget for a suit is around 450.00 which I'm figuring out may be unrealistic for anything quality. However the JAB-type sale that HTS mentioned (800.00 for 3) sounds like a good option. And has anyone every gone to M Lang? Or how about Christophier on Clifton? Again, thanks everyone for your input it's much appreciated.

Ha ha. Oh okay wow that's great. I've got much more to check out... thanks metrocity! p.s. Interesting: The sack suit helped define what is to this day seen as the “American” shape: natural shoulders with minimal padding, a less defined body shape and a single center vent. Think of JFK. Traditional British tailoring produces the classic English cut: defined and padded shoulders, nipped waist, a double breasted front and, of course, double vents. Think of the Duke of Windsor.

I wasn't offended by the article. She meant well. But yeah, the orchestra, art museum and Cinematheque are all very much on the national radar already.

I'm kind of stocky- 5'9 and 170. Sounds like I'm not exactly "slim" material. Checking JAB website now. All good stuff which definitely will help. Thanks again.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
This is disheartening as it is unbelievable. Ever wonder why our coastline looks so freaking terrible? Here's a big reason why: criminal contractors and incompetent government. http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_news/investigations/federal-probe-under-way-into-illegal-dumping-along-lake-erie-shoreline

Governor John Kasich
Please help this along Governor K: Kasich spokesman Rob Nichols sounds encouraging but not specific. "The sooner we can transition back to local operation of these local resources the better for everyone," he said. "That needs to happen in a way that makes the most sense for all Ohioans, and we're optimistic that we'll find that solution." State officials must not let the future of Cleveland's lakefront parks become our fiscal 'sea' cliff Updated: Tuesday, December 04, 2012, 8:14 AM By Mark Naymik, The Plain Dealer It's time for Ohio to give up management of the Cleveland's lakefront parks, which include Edgewater and Euclid Beach. The Cleveland Metroparks is in the strongest position to run them. As my colleague James Ewinger outlined in a recent story, the Metroparks has been studying exactly what it will take to improve maintenance, upgrade amenities, increase the number of users and keep the parks safe. To its credit, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, which manages a half-dozen city lakefront parks, wants to unload them. Yet, negotiations keep spinning around money, making this debate Ohio's fiscal sea cliff. http://www.cleveland.com/naymik/index.ssf/2012/12/state_officials_must_not_let_t.html

Was not even aware of this issue, thanks for starting me off somewhere. Cuffs for Pleated Vs. Flat-Front Pants Rules for pant cuffs can be confusing. One rule for pant cuffs says that flat-front pants should not have cuffs. Although this is not always true, the rule should be considered with caution. Flat front pants and cuffs clash because they are derived from different cultures. Flat front pants are considered to be a continental European tradition and cuffs are of Anglo-American origin. Although these may sound like obscure details, mixing these two styles is fairly obvious to well-dressed gentlemen and should be avoided. http://www.realmenrealstyle.com/dress-pants-cuffs-no-cuffs/

In CLE: need advise with new business attire
I've been a victim of "moth attack" and need to replace my old suits. I'm looking for one nice business suit (as opposed to 2 or 3 okay ones). I plan to add more in the future when my finances improve. I should get some less formal/business attire as well. Info: I work at a law firm here and also sometimes work in Manhattan and California. I don't trust the fashion sense of my co-workers. And especially when I'm in NYC I don't want to stand out in a bad way. I'm not very fashion-conscience when it comes to work, so please, anyone, school me on where to go for help. If possible, I generally prefer to wear conservative clothes that will stay in style. ie Everyone loved my old suits because they had a "classic" old school look to them...because they actually were old and very expensive. As for the less formal business clothing, I'm open to trying to be less conservative. But I'm not wealthy and don't want to spend money on clothes that will be "out" a year from now. Oh - I'd prefer to support businesses in or close to the city. Anyone with opinions on M Lang?

The Richardson TD was a perfect example of what this can cause. The T-Rich got the ball, I saw the Oakland DE right there poised to make the tackle. But Travis Benjamin was racing across the line on a fake reverse that completely froze him. Once that happened T-Rich just walked right in. The Absolute right play call at the moment, never something I thought I'd say about Shurmer. Right! That same play never stopped working for Tomlinson. Ya got speed-demon Benjamin (and maybe still Cribbs) so what the heck, keep it going!

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Anyone else notice that they're running WR's into the backfield finally? Just as I suggested on this very thread!! But you can see how the misdirection tactic gets the defense off it's game for a split second or two. It works on pass plays, or allows the RB space for an extra couple of yards.
