Cleveland: Downtown: Wendy Park
•The final and most dramatic manifestation of lakeward momentum was the revelation of a plan for the revitalization of Edgewater Park, perhaps the most coveted and promising park in the package. It was drafted by Leon Younger, former executive director of the Lake Metroparks and now a consultant to park systems around the country. The Cleveland Metroparks paid $25,000 for the plan, which Younger presented after the board meeting I can't wait to see this plan.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Love it or hate it, I'm sure the bulkhead will be reconstructed as part of the boardwalk going up. i know what you mean strap, but its much more raw than gritty and it needs to go. this is going to take a lot of work if the future plans to build closer to the riverfront come to pass. actually rebuilding the bulkheads is my fav part of the feb project because it could allow for a boardwalk and could help support construction nearer to the water. Agree. The Flats still need a major overhaul of infrastructure. In connection, there are still a plethora of aesthetic barriers to overcome for the hood to reach its potential imho.

CLE: Warehouse District
I've wondered, if new development goes here, is there anything in place to protect the Pinnacle residents views from being obstructed?

Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
Don't bike lanes impede traffic to an extent? And crosswalks? I don't mean to nitpick. Only point out that you're painting with a broad brush, or favoring auto transit over all other forms.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
The writer is including "Old Chinatown" with AsiaTown. Emperor's Palace in Cleveland gets Rockwell Avenue cooking again Published: Thursday, November 08, 2012 By John Petkovic, The Plain Dealer AsiaTown might not get the attention of Cleveland's other entertainment districts. Activity is another story. It's one of Cleveland's most vibrant areas, boasting some 20 restaurants, bakeries and markets where you can get a taste of Asia. Check out the most recent addition. And not just because it rolls out a wide-ranging menu and a tasty dim sum. Emperor's Palace -- 2136 Rockwell Ave., Cleveland, 216-861-9999 -- is reclaiming the heart of old Chinatown. http://www.cleveland.com/dining/index.ssf/2012/11/emperors_palace_in_cleveland_g.html#incart_river_default Great newz from article: It's part of a larger plan by investors from Zhongshan, China, to revive Rockwell as a family-friendly destination. Two more restaurants and a museum are planned.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
Great idea. I hope this is the start of something that can be expanded. For example they could lure in so much of the Indians foot traffic by simply opening the doors.

Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel ran for US Senate.
All it took was ten seconds of the voice of Connie Schultz, and I immediately regretted that Brown was re- elected.

I see what you're saying. Though I'll give a pass to structures that are adjacent/close proximity to water. You want to be sensitive about casting those areas in shade.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
That's beautiful, I thought that building was a goner. It's not highlighted on the OC master plan. That being said, what do you guys think of the "boulevard concept" for this section of W 25th? What are the benefits of doing that?

Columbus: Local Media News & Discussion
I'm kinda surprised in an article about a radio station, not one mention of the music format. I used to love CD101 when I lived in Columbus, but then somewhere along the way they just stopped playing new music. I didn't want to listen to the Verve Pipe and Blur forever.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Is anyone sure that adding a roof mandates the Browns cannot play in bad weather? If it can be financially justified for more usage, I want the retractable roof AND for the Browns to remain an outdoor team.

There is actually a bit of skepticism on how it will hold up.

Cleveland: Hotel Development
Here is some info on the exterior construction material to be used for Westin: History of EIFS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exterior_Insulation_Finishing_System EIFS was developed in Europe after World War II and was initially used to retrofit solid masonry walls.[citation needed] EIFS started to be used in North America in the 1960s, and became very popular in the mid- 1970's due to the oil embargo and the resultant surge in interest in high energy efficiency wall systems (such as EIFS provides). The use of EIFS over stud-and-sheathing framing (instead of over solid walls) is a North American technique. EIFS is now used all over North America, and also in many other areas around the world, especially in Europe and the Pacific Rim.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Showed this to some friends last night. We all agree it's very well done. Thanks MTS. p.s. Anyone remember how to locate that Asian-produced CLE/NEO promo video? That was also pretty inspiring.

or It's simple. You're either for or against. We're simple people. We cannot handle anything even remotely thoughtful on the subject.

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
Curious. Anyone here who is actually optimistic about this?

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
If I remember the original article correctly, the property owner reasoned it would be more marketable if the entire lot was cleared. Then there were renderings that suggested a drug store or Marcs type of development. But really I have no solid information on this.

Word on the street is that Gepettos/Johnny Malloys on the corner of Clifton and W117 is closing on Wed. This could be the start of demolition for their building along with the former Giant Eagle next door.
