Cleveland: Downtown: Wendy Park
For rentals, are you meaning jet ski's or kayaks? I was always shocked that the jet ski rental constantly had trash floating all around the dock. It looked like a cesspool. I can't imagine that was good for business. It's a sure bet that with these continued investments, Wendy Park will be considerably cleaner and more welcoming.

It's going to be strange not seeing all those seagulls on the shoreway.

Cleveland: Downtown: Wendy Park
At first glance I really like the concepts. In related news, the ultra popular Midwest Reggae Festival may move to Wendy Park this summer. There are ownership issues at Nelson Ledges I hear. I'm not so sure this is the reight venue...yet. Wendy Park is still a place where I'd never kick off my shoes just yet. Still a lot of broken glass and debris in the topsoil.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
^ This is hard for me to completely visualize, but it's surely a major improvement. Thanks for posting!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
That intersection is horrendous. We need some traffic calming measures...quick, someone photoshop some nicer alternative! p.s. one thing that would improve the place is that- in my imagination- Fat Fish Blue is moving into that empty "for lease" storefront at the SE corner.

Doesn't C-bus still get 43/19? What would you all do with ACTION NEWS!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Good points. And visually speaking, if you look east down Detroit from Gordon Square it's easy to envision expansion toward OC. The infrastructure is largely in place, with just a few gaps to fill in. Imagine a day when Detroit Shoreway and the Market District have a seamless connection.

Cutting Cable
I'm glad you brought this up. I don't think it's a coincidence that the Tribe has lost popularity since leaving Channel 43. Obviously not the only factor, but certainly helped further the disconnect. Personal example, I remember one summer I had to wait until July to get to the Jake. I remember being shocked to find out OF Jason Michaels was a white guy! p.s. lots of good info on this thread. I've been without cable since 01 and I get by just fine over the airwaves, plus european sites for sports, youtube (watched the entire wire series on there) and friends netflix account.

Cleveland: League Park
If I had the resources I would support bringing back the Negro Leagues. Or at least host some exhibition games on that principle. I think it would bring back a ton of interest and much needed attention to the sport. I'm sure some would consider this controversial. Not me. I consider the Negro Leagues as one of the most inspiring, bright spots of American history.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
Yes and no. Mostly no. The bus shelters are downright embarrassing. The lighting is nice though, and was sorely needed. Generally I prefer more direct investments in the built environment, rather than continually "enhancing" public goods to the Nth degree. Gotcha.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
Just curious, do you think the money spent on Gordon Square's streetscape was a good investment? But anyhow, residential is huge, but not the only goal behind the Shoreway conversion.

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
On the one hand, I really appreciate how the Clinic tries to factor in inspiration and patients' emotional needs into their architecture. On the other hand, to me it's obvious that those churches can be used in a creative way to further those same goals. They offer a beauty and serenity that just cannot be duplicated. When they are lost, they are lost forever.

Cleveland: Perk Park Renovation
^ Also agree! That red accent provides exactly the kind of vibrant colors that downtown needs. Think London and Dublin IRL; cities in gloomy northern climates where very colorful storefronts improve the aesthetic.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
Some windows would be a drastic improvement, not only aesthetically, but they could be an asset for the building. Or better yet, balconies. It worked in Columbus: http://www.smbhinc.com/images/projects/zoom/broad_1.jpg edit: I see quite a few people already chimed in on this!

Plus it opens up the very cool Greyhound building for development. Something more oriented to the growing student residential pop.

When KJP mentioned "air rights" I immediately thought of this...

Cleveland: Downtown Aquarium
I think the faster the aquarium can inspire spinoff, the better for the aquarium. The West Bank is going to require considerably more investment for it to become a destination once again.

Portage County: Development and News
Great pics! Glad to finally see so much investment in an area with such obvious potential. I'm torn about the new architecture ie Davey. I'm just not a fan of that style, I don't know what you technically call it. But ever since the Columbus Gateway project (and Easton, Crocker Park, etc) I sort of equate it with being sterile and artificial looking. Anyhow, I'm fairly certain the massive development plans going on at U Akron will mirror that same architecture. I suppose it's still way way better than strip malls.

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
Would any of you guys like something like this? I think it's not only functional with the ped access and retail, but it captures the grandeur of a terrific era. It's the bridge from the Great Lakes Exposition - I think I've posted this 3x here on UO lol.

Cleveland Area TOD Discussion
Good news. I'm pretty sure this is the Marous project my buddy is working on. He described the place as being near Berea and Detroit.

Akron: University Park Alliance Developments
I am really hopeful for this plan. Done the right way, it could inject some serious life into campus and downtown. It would literally transform the entire area, making it a real destination.
