  1. The new skate park could be amazing. I'm really looking forward to following this development. The Flats desperately need this right now. p.s. lol at pizza guy
  2. Should be interesting to see the competition between the new Starbucks and the newly rebuilt locals Aroma Coffee.
  3. Hey Guv, your pm's are full!!! p.s. more on topic, I really hope they can integrate the Cleveland casino into the urban fabric city. I'm scared to death this will be a tacky Vegas/A.C. style purple monstrosity....think Tiffany's Caberet on steroids lol.
  4. I may be mistaken, but it sounds to me like a lot of critcs are angry that Drew isn't personally booking a flight asap to personally "save" the city from collapse. In fact, I think the proposition would be pretty far from Drew's political beliefs as I understand them. I think we have to get far away from the "please rescue us" mentality as possible. The idea that we need the Government or, in this case, a famous actor to turn things around here is not a good one. The steps for real change begin with each of us personally.
  5. Looks fantastic, I'm really proud of you guys!!!
  6. Sounds great!
  7. I know this is my own opinion and many reasonable people will feel otherwise. But I just think it's in poor taste to put anonymous dead people on public display. Why?
  8. This made my day. Thanks!!!
  9. I avoided this type of thing at Great Lakes Science Center and I'll avoid this on E. 4th as well.

The parking garage is a big giant step backwards in the effort to remake the campus. My problem isn't so much it's existence, but rather its placement. It's far too prominent for a main street that should be lined with small scale retail. I have to question the judgement of the University here. I'm not sure they "get" what makes a safe, beautiful, walkable community...the type of place that would make students want to stick around after class.
  11. Well, the 34th Annual Cleveland Intl. Film Festival wrapped up last night. I'm disappointed to say our film was beaten out for the audience award by "Louder than a Bomb," an incredible story about slam poetry in inner city Chicago. It's been a real honor to be associated with CIFF. For those out there who don't know, this festival has an amazing international reputation which is well deserved. The staff and volunteers are so passionate and absolutely dedicated to the audience. I cannot say enough good things about it... I'm really proud that we can look forward to this event year after year.
  12. Agree with you 327, this could have easily been ten pages long. I'm really proud of Cleveland.
  13. This is intensely sad. Maybe this tragedy can bring the congregation closer together.
  14. McCleveland I agree 100 percent. I know this project is going to start a trend toward sprucing up our riverfront. It's going to lead to better access, and help build that valuable bridge between the public and the waterfront.
  15. Nah I didn't interpret anything racial involved...but I'm sure the dot bomb comments did. Whether one agrees with the libertarian slant or not, I welcome the topics Drew is bringing to the table.
  16. I'm with you KJP. This is the best local news, they're actually aiming to be the best at what they do...be entertaining. Like I love it when they're talking about a convicted criminal, the anchor will say "Let's hope that scum stays behind bars!" Classic.
  17. Yeah that we me. Thanks for not turning the dial lol.
  18. The lake views from that concept would be amazing! I just hope that the structure will be designed to make lakefront access easier either now or in the future.
  19. No worries, we are going to rent out aka "four wall" the Capitol Theatre, probably in May. So attendance is mandatory for that one Peabody :) I'm a member of CINEMA, the local filmmakers group, and we get a very reasonable rate.
  20. Oh thanks 86!!! We're really working hard to promote the show. Even after having so much fun in California, all of us are most excited to be screening in front of the home crowd.
  21. congrats. how has the surfing been this year? it might be my imagination but it seems the winds have been calmer this winter. I know in the ocean there lots of factors that impact waves**, but are there any factor beyond certain winds make for high surf in on the lake? **loved the tsumami warning alert that showed up on my cell phone on a recent Hawaii trip. WTF? Tsunami Report!!! Whoa, that would bother me lol. The lake has frozen over at all the good spots, so surfing season has been on hold for the last month or so. Yes we need wind for all of our waves. On the ocean you'll get waves from storms that are thousands of miles away, so it's common to go surfing in beautiful sunny conditions. Because the Great Lakes are so much smaller in comparison, we usually only get waves when the storms are right on top of us. It can be rough, but there is something uniquely rewarding about being right in the middle of all the chaos.
  22. Nice! And thanks Guv, Gottaplan and the rest for bringing up good points while fending off those narrowminded .com types. Scott
  23. Anyone have friends in Southern California? Out of Place is screening at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Feb 13/14. Check out the link!!!! http://www.santabarbarasurfer.com/index.php/news/article/cleveland_surf_documentary_coming/
  24. Absolutely amazing!!!! I'm probably least excited by the winner, not practical imho, but all the renderings are very exciting and bring some new ideas to the table. We have so much potential here.... BRIDGE THAT SHOREWAY.
