Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I don't think the stadium is stopping anything, but rather it's the uncertainty. That goes for Burke height restrictions as well.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
Exciting stuff yous guys (Jersey accent) ^ For your yellow/red section of the East Bank I would propose transitioning the boardwalk to the current sidewalk fronting those businesses. Like, literally just board-over the concrete and maybe extend into the street a little bit if that's possible. Also the Lake Link trail section to the old Coast Guard would be no-brainer.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
The longest contiguous boardwalk in the world is in Atlantic City (5 miles). I'd sure love to see Cleveland make a goal of nearing or even beating that. Just eyeballing it I think that goal is possible given the routing options and terrain for river + lake.

Thank you. It is indeed bizarro world we're living in. When you realize that, it then makes perfect sense why you should hand over what should be our most valuable asset - the Lakefront - to the genius behind the Cleveland Browns.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
My friends and I used to hang out at this warehouse space over in Collinwood. There was A LOT of old "Dome for Cleveland" billboards collecting dust there. Connecting some dots it made me wonder if a certain nefarious ethnic underworld organization may have been behind that campaign haha.

Fertility Rates
Because I have virtually no knowledge on the subject I have to ask: Is the argument that fertility rates need to be constantly growing in order for the global economy to be sustainable? Like, is it comparable to a corporation where that entity requires continual growth to maintain its economic existence? Or is there evidence that decline in population has improved the economic health and well-being of people within a city or region? Anyway it's difficult - for me anyway - how this birth rate issue really intersects with economic policy, immigration, sociology, philosophy and the role of religion and government in our lives.

Cleveland: Hotel Development
Here's hoping. What's really sobering is the thought of not being able to complete this comparatively modest project in what's arguably CLE's hottest neighborhood.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
^ Everybody contact this moron: State Rep. Tom Patton, a Strongsville Republican who proposed the ban, said he’s heard complaints expressed by businesses along Superior Avenue that they will no longer be able to make left turns, as well as safety concerns made by the Ohio Trucking Association that the bike lane will make deliveries “very challenging in some places.” Patton said he’s “all for bicycle lanes” in general. “All this does is, hopefully, make (City Council) representatives reach out and say, ‘Let’s sit down and explain it,’” Patton said. “I don’t think 99% of the people in the city of Cleveland know it’s going to happen.” Patton said that Cleveland’s frosty winters only allow for bike riding about seven months out of the year. “That middle lane’s going to be there 12 months out of the year.”

What is this absolute nonsense? Ohio get with this century please.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Yep! And also the city becomes so much more connected. Like it wouldn't be out of the question walking or biking from say Wendy Park Coast Guard station to Tower City - all along the water on a bike path-boardwalk system. If I'm Dan Gilbert I'd certainly be taking an "all roads lead to Rome" mentality. The riverfront really can be such a welcoming front door for the entire TC complex...by train, bike, boat, etc.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Cleveland has the potential to have one of the coolest, if not one of the longest boardwalks in the U.S. I've said it before, but there really needs to be someone, or some governing body looking out to ensure that the pedestrian pathways are connected. Along with adjacent development opportunities where it's most appropriate.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I haven't been downtown since Covid. Do you think downtown's going to remain like a ghost town? Also we better make certain RTA is much much better before making "congestion" our preferred route to a better downtown.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Not to get too far off topic, but they closed the streets at U of Akron, which was overall a great idea. Unfortunately it also created a pedestrian shunning "ring of steel" on the nearest adjacent street (Exchange) so it's not always so simple. Downtown CLE is not a large area at all, the traffic is going to go somewhere.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
That's a good one. I tried explaining this concept (very poorly) in an Ohio City thread about stress on W.25th St. and basically got assaulted lol. But Public Square is already fairly counterintuitive for drivers. I'd hate to see and hear even more confused cars getting honked at by buses.

Aliens? The truth is out there!
When I first moved to Ohio in the 1990's I used to sometimes see lights zigzagging in the night sky, at high enough altitude they made no sound and looked like stars. At that time I had assumed they were satellites until I learned that satellites don't move like that. Now I'm wondering if this kind of flying spycraft type thing has been happening all the time.

Lakewood: Downtown: CASTO Development
Glad to see the Curtis block still "kind of" survives, at least aesthetically. Site plan looks okay. I really liked the south end residential of the original plan a lot more. IDK I'm kind of 50-50 on this....I feel like this is a spot to go all in with more density, and architecturally unique. But this development looks like something utterly routine that would go up overnight & unheralded in any other city. Also was just thinking wouldn't this be a good project for a hotel partner? And why doesn't any hotel chain seem to show any interest in Lakewood?

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
There are mixed results searching for what tax advantages exist to incentivize keeping retail space empty. But interestingly there is momentum in the other direction to penalize landlords who maintain vacant storefronts for extended periods of time, interesting little article here: https://www.thestorefront.com/mag/need-rethink-vacant-retail-spaces/

It's either the Bank of America in Charlotte or ATL that I've seen used as stock footage to represent "EVIL CORPORATION" in movies lol. As for SW I think it's going to end up looking kinda like an XL version of the Polymer Science building at The University of Akron.
