Housing Market & Trends
There have been some pretty positive articles about Buffalo recently, as well as personal anecdotes that the downtown and waterfront are changing for the better. Good to hear. Always gotta root for the Great Lakes cities.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I remember the late Kendall Lewis aka the BSK on sportsradio was a huge elf proponent lol. Anyhow, just be ready to explain to people when they ask why the Browns logo is a demonic horribly dressed baby.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
You have to wonder if things would've looked better for Vance had he run as a normal person, and not some cartoonish MAGA caricature.

^ That logo is sure to strike fear into the hearts of the opposing team.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
There is just something very unappealing about having several buildings clustered all about the same height.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Doesn't virtually every study of concentrated poverty make the point that low-income residents have much better changes for upward mobility living in a more mixed-income environment?

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Aww, man. I always wanted to visit but the timing was always off. You just never knew when the place was going to be open. I just love the way it looks inside, especially since nowadays everyplace just seems so sterile. https://www.progressiveurban.com/p/4911-Detroit-Avenue-Cleveland-OH-44102/dmgid_156189062

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Forbes' vicious cycle of love-hate for CLE continues. Cleveland: The Next Venice? Chadd Scott Sep 5, 2022 Could Cleveland, Ohio become the next Venice, Italy? Before scoffing at the idea, consider this. “In 1894, Venice, which these days we think of as a tourist location, a sparkling jewel on the Adriatic, was down at the heels–failed port city, a backwater of Europe, looking for a purpose,” Fred Bidwell, Executive Director for FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art, told Forbes.com. “They needed to do something to rebuild and reimagine what that city meant and that was the origin of the Venice Biennale.” The Venice Biennale is the longest running, most prestigious art event in the world. Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world visit every other year to experience art-filled pavilions curated by participating countries and the galaxy of ancillary programs which its popularity has spawned. “That idea of a World's Fair of art changed Venice from being a has-been city to a really important destination,” Bidwell said. “That's my dream for Cleveland.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/chaddscott/2022/09/05/cleveland-the-next-venice/?sh=81c0ac76b175&fbclid=IwAR1ssfpd9TwJCTQhEnaNN2sg8oyk9gl42BwxZVbzIwTGuf2LRJQYbgXTnAI

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
Oh yeah. During my bike days the Detroit-Superior Bridge and that section of downtown was like running the gauntlet.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
Agree. Plus if you watch traffic there for any amount of time you can see how confused car drivers make the situation worse. It's a very strange design that I'm betting most visitors to the city have not encountered.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Darn. I did not want to mess with the remarkable chemistry this team had & was really hoping Sexton could jump in and contribute his points off the bench. Plus Lauri has been looking great during the international games. I don't really know anything about Mitchell. Hope it's a good trade for both teams but man, the Cleveland Cavaliers hold my last shred of optimism for pro sports.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
I don't think there's any real indication of what Vance would actually do in the senate. The guy is just way too disingenuous.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
The Dolans problem since day 1 has always been their trouble with marketing and controlling perception. By most other variables they're pretty much a model organization. Also while I can't prove it, my pet belief is that the team lost a great deal of fan-connection when they left Channel 43. I distinctly remember those first few seasons on cable when it was difficult to watch them play, I didn't know too many people who paid extra. You practically had to go to a bar to see them on tv. Before that, everyone had a tv and everyone had Channel 43 and so you saw the team constantly.

Huh, these teams have never faced one another. One neat stat: each team has 17 conference championships. http://www.winsipedia.com/ucla/vs/bowling-green

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
I was glad for USL to be getting rid of the MLS 2 teams. There's something about playing another teams designated reserves that's just not sexy. That being said, Gramarye you may be interested to hear more about the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. It's a knockout tournament where both professional and amateur clubs are eligible. It's really fun to see teams from Walla Walla or wherever square off against the big guys. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Open_Cup This year Orlando City (MLS) faces Sacramento Republic (USL) for the Final on Sep 7. The last non-MLS team to win it was the Rochester Rhinos in 1999.

Proof that wheels are in motion! I'm sure as heck hoping Cleveland gets USL and not MLS development.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Synopsis: DW: I didn't do anything wrong, I'm just going through all this because I have to. I apologize for triggering sensitive people like ya'all. I'm moving forward as a person and a human being. Dee Haslam: Dashawn is stupid, but he will learn more about himself and what he did wrong through counseling [waves hand to signal henchmen to bring in duffelbags containing $1 mil USD for sexual harassment research]. Jimmy: Dashawn can throw a football real good and I'm Southern and folksy. So i'm just gonna sweet talk my way around all this sounding like Foghorn Leghorn and ya'all will still watch us on Sundays.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'd bet that many people in Cleveland don't know about the NFL titles either. But pro football existed long before the Super Bowl. And the recent proliferation of teams shouldn't mean anything. Like, nobody is going to downplay the World Series winners from back then.
-
Cleveland Browns Discussion
Yes God arguably does hate Cleveland. However it is a bit sad that the Browns hardly ever get credit for winning several NFL titles.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
The NFL seems to really hate Browns fans. I blame the league for the team moving and for virtually all the expansion chaos.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I see that stretch as sort of a civic "back porch" for the city: lots of public access with shopping, event space, recreation and residential too. It would be great to design in a way there's a seamless walkable retail component that stretches out from Tower City.
