2022 U.S. Senate Race
Haha, can this Vance idiot look any worse?

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
A functional boardwalk would be the engine that 1. truly helps foster development and 2. helps people to continue to patronize the businesses along the water. Not to mention it's just a great amenity for residents living there. It's just frustrating that such a simple concept isn't so simple (see the Towpath) but it would be great to have someone, some entity take ownership of this idea to make sure that all stakeholders can see the benefits.

Is that the big boxy addition that comes up to the sidewalk, I hope?

The Future of America and Its Cities
This is all true, and yet these are also all things we are already dealing with to some extent.

The Future of America and Its Cities
Aren't you curious how much Ohio and the GL states could make off such a deal? Like, if it could seriously fund education, infrastructure, healthcare services etc. that would be interesting. Though my guess is that with current technology the costs of transporting the water would be insurmountable.

The Future of America and Its Cities
That's really an incredible statistic. Reminds me of the "Draining the Oceans" series on YouTube, there's a Great Lakes episode and it's so cool to see the computer models.

The Future of America and Its Cities
It's understandable that Great Lakes water is treated as sacred. Totally get that. But I'd be curious to know the hypothetical economics of selling "excess" water in an environmentally safe way. For one thing it would save billions in lost property and dreaded erosion-control.

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
^ A lot of people in San Diego absolutely HATE the word "density." It's like a four letter word. I always ask why, and they always, always then go on to list all of the problems associated not with density, but with suburban sprawl. Most people just have no idea what they're talking about.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
Trumps endorsement....another reason NOT to vote for Vance lol. Okay here's some free advice for commercials: just play Vance's comments about Ukraine, and slowly superimpose a Soviet hammer and sickle over his dumb face and voiceover "Come on Ohio, we cannot elect a communist Russian sympathizer as a senator."

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
To be clear I didn't say "generate." But if you look at other facilities along or nearby the Towpath that support visitors (I'm hesitant to call them "museums") they all appear to be quite popular. A place that size of B&O could or offer bicycle service, a hostel, cafes, etc. I totally get what you're saying about museum concerns, but with multiple current uses you still have some flexibility to see what's working best. To me, I think a place with amenities that offers up historical knowledge is a winner.

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
Right. I can't keep up with the timeline or boundaries, but I do believe that whatever the result is there's going to be a dramatic increase in people using the Towpath Trail and hitting up worthwhile points of interest in the vicinity. That's short term. In the long term this whole stretch could very well be the recreational center of the city.

HB 616 ("Don't Say Gay" / CRT Bill)
You sure missed out my friend! For as long as I can remember the lyrics and melody to William wants a doll have been rolling around in the back my mind hahaha. In all seriousness I remember everyone loved this program.

HB 616 ("Don't Say Gay" / CRT Bill)
In NJ every class in my district watched this program at the beginning of the schoolyear in around 1st-4th grade. This was FIFTY YEARS AGO. I'm curious as to whether this would even be allowed in FL or Ohio under the new laws. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_to_Be..._You_and_Me Free to Be... You and Me is a children's entertainment project, conceived, created and executive-produced by actress and author Marlo Thomas. Produced in collaboration with the Ms. Foundation for Women, it was a record album and illustrated book first released in November 1972 featuring songs and stories sung or told by celebrities of the day including Alan Alda, Rosey Grier, Cicely Tyson, Carol Channing, Michael Jackson, Roberta Flack, Shirley Jones, Jack Cassidy, and Diana Ross. The basic concept was to encourage post-1960s gender neutrality, saluting values such as individuality, tolerance, and comfort with one's identity. A major thematic message is that anyone—whether a boy or a girl—can achieve anything.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I won't feel too bad if the Cavs miss the playoffs...they had a brilliant season until Ricky Rubio went down. Super fun and the future is bright! That being said it would be really cool if they could find a way to beat up Brooklyn tonight.

MLB: General News & Discussion
The Nats exist. They have led Cleveland in attendance every season since 2009. In fact they probably avg. like 10k more per game.

HB 616 ("Don't Say Gay" / CRT Bill)
With respect to a student in any of grades four through twelve, schools may not teach, use, or provide any curriculum or instructional materials on sexual orientation or gender identity in any manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards. Wow, talk about big government.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Last summer my alternator died while driving on the highway in Orlando. I ended up pinned on a much-too-narrow shoulder next to a jersey barrier with literally nowhere else to go. It was too dangerous to stay in the car with cars speeding passed (and blaring their horn, like I chose to break down there). It was a harrowing walk to find a safer place to wait for AAA. So I could definitely see something similar happening in this case.

General Transit Discussion
I look at free fares as a step in the process to obtaining more stakeholders and more funding. I'd consider it like a marketing scheme in a much bigger picture.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Here's a look at Lucas Oil costs and revenues. While the headline sounds positive, my shallow dive into this gives an initial impression this investment is a financial loser. https://www.ibj.com/articles/36743-lucas-oil-stadium-meeting-revenue-expectations
