Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
This area really is not comparable to CSU though. And I'm not arguing that the best urban areas are walkable, this is simply a point about navigation on a street bookended two major hospitals. With all the current and future development coming online it's fairly easy to predict that W.25th is being relied upon for too much. The point made by @Ethanis a valid one.

I heard they have Bob Frantz cryogenically frozen to use whenever.

Yep, Coast to Coast AM with George Noory! It's okay, but it's just not the same. I can't get into radio "reruns" or even pre-recorded broadcasts for the same reason I haven't gotten into podcasts. The thing I really like about radio is that "live and in the moment" sorta thing. For the most part we really don't have that kind of shared, collective viewing or listening experience anymore.

At this point I was just hoping someone would paint windows. But yeah, this mural idea should make you nervous lol.

Geraldo does seem like a decent guy, though I never did hear his radio show. I had been a constant listener to 1100 for ages but the station has just been completely off my radar the past few years. I do miss hearing Mike Snyder, super nice guy. And I am very nostalgic for late nights hearing about all the UFO's, time traveling, conspiracies, ghost planets and vampires with the incomparable Art Bell. I wonder whatever happened to Kevin Keene?

Lakewood: Downtown: CASTO Development
Rockside Road to be more exact haha. While I'm hesitant to say that it doesn't fit the aesthetic in Lakewood because it's a bit of a mish mash, this certainly looks like something of the urban renewal variety that would've been built years ago. Maybe it's the recessed ground floor, or the plaza. It's better than a vacant lot in the supposed most dense city in the region...but this is looking to be fairly anticlimactic.

Lakewood: Downtown: CASTO Development
Right. This incarnation looks like it should be adjacent to an I77 exit ramp, surrounded by geese.

Agree totally. Without time to really be eloquent about it, the street grid in that area is already a catastrophe, either by road closure or bizarre street layouts. The beauty of an urban area is often the ability to simply and predictably drive around a block.

What are you watching?
Saw season 1 a few years ago. I'm torn, I thought the set design was amazing but the main character seemed unlikable and essentially irredeemable.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
Wow, 600 units currently under construction with 3,000 more "planned." Anyone know how many additional residents that might be? Like could we possibly reach 30k sooner than later?

Hmm, wonder if Nature's Oasis is establishing another location or simply moving from Lakewood. https://www.naturesoasisstores.com/ edit - the fact they have an additional location in Shaker Hts. maybe points to keeping their original Lakewood spot.

Cleveland: Housing Market
Anyone have insights or recommendation for a good mortgage refi company? My current mortgage is with Chase, I'm sort of ambivalent about sticking with them. Thought about going local but reviews for Cross Country were not great, and nobody on earth seems to like Quicken/Rocket lol. Any help is much appreciated!

Cleveland: Wind Turbine Construction News
Why Wind Turbines in Lake Erie Are So Controversial Plans have been in place wind turbines in our waters since 2009. First proposed in 2009, the Icebreaker wind farm, located about eight miles off the coast of Cleveland, would bring six wind turbines to Lake Erie, making it the first freshwater wind farm in North America. But the project is as hated as it is loved — and its odds of moving forward took a hit recently when the Ohio House of Representatives voted against passing a measure that would help fund it. We checked in with two people on opposite sides of the issue: Dave Karpinski, the president of the Lake Erie Energy Development Corp., the nonprofit coalition behind Icebreaker, and John Lipaj, a board member for the Lake Erie Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 2016 to protect the lake. Why (or why not) Lake Erie? John Lipaj: Lake Erie is Ohio’s most precious natural resource. It has taken decades to recover from the damage done to Lake Erie by putting corporate profits ahead of the environment. Icebreaker’s $173 million cost is excessive for generating only 20 megawatts of electricity. That is $137 million more than the cost to generate the same amount of electricity with onshore wind turbines. Dave Karpinski: Ohio can seize a leadership position in the rapidly growing, multibillion-dollar U.S. offshore wind industry. Lake Erie is an ideal location with ample available interconnect capacity, abundant winds and a large demand for electricity. Reviewed by 14 state and federal agencies, Icebreaker offers a responsible path to a promising source of clean energy and an economic win. https://clevelandmagazine.com/in-the-cle/news/articles/why-wind-turbines-in-lake-erie-are-so-controversial

Cleveland Browns Discussion
The optics are really depressing. I mean, just think of how excited everyone was for this last season? I had not seen that level of positive interest in the team since the 80's. Crazy how a generation of fans has been so let down. injuries, underperformance, continual bizarre on the field decision-making....all the way down to cutting our sexy punter! What a nightmare.

Cleveland: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame News & Discussion
Agree. Also it's time to activate those dead spaces along the water with...anything. It's always been so sterile. Bigger picture: I need to see better, more walkable connections. It's going to require a coordinated, well thought-out effort by all stakeholders, not just the Rock Hall. We shall see.

Cleveland: MetroHealth Medical Center
Have some imagination. Maybe it's a hall that can be rented out for parties in the park? It does rain a lot in Ohio. I'm thinking weddings, dinners, birthdays or whatever. But then again we don't know the details, so who knows.

You're making it sound like you can't have both. Check the site plan, the church & house (see "L" below) take up a very small area in comparison.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
I don't think anyone wants more gray/beige sameness, but is it too far-fetched in the city with Sherwin Williams to come up with some appropriate color palette befitting a northern coastal city?
