^ I seem to remember someone was shot there...a rarity for Lakewood.

Happy for the Bucks. But man...that was some really bad basketball. The Cavs-Warriors was definitely way above this. Doesn't matter though, it's 2021 and Suns and Bucks were the last standing and Bucks pulled it out. Congrats to Milwaukee and Phoenix for the finals.
  4. If SW was PR savvy they would be sponsoring both local and internationally renowned artists to create works while highlighting the current trending paint colors. Something like a gallery+interactive center with retail and historical displays would go great on Public Square. Please steal this idea.
  5. ^ How long until there are cameras on every main street?
  6. What's the source/link to the news?
  7. Nah man. A truly unpopular take would rhyme with "Smedical Blart" 2.0.
  8. I would like to know how the remaining beaches are going to be affected. The Euclid plan is entirely predicated on coastal armoring, which has been and continues to be a very controversial approach. It's really too bad that development was allowed so close to the shoreline...funny how these long past decisions continue to haunt us. What is shoreline armoring? "Armoring" is the practice of using physical structures to protect shorelines from coastal erosion. Shoreline armoring has both beneficial and detrimental effects. Armored shorelines can prevent sandy beaches, wetlands, and other intertidal areas from moving inland as the land erodes or sea levels rise, but they also have the potential to eliminate habitat for marine organisms and beach front for the public by restricting the natural movement of sediments. The key to shoreline stabilization, if it is required, is to use a site-specific stabilization method that balances the needs of the public and the needs of the natural system. https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/shoreline-armoring.html
  9. Cincinnati named NFL's worst travel destination for fans Where does the city of Cincinnati rank as far as NFL fan experiences goes? According to one writer, the home of the Bengals ranks dead last of all NFL locales. Ben Volin of the Boston Globe set out to rank every NFL destination in the country and slapped the Bengals last, writing the following: “30. Cincinnati: The ribs at Montgomery Inn are great. And you can stay across the river in Covington to cross Kentucky off your list of states visited. But there’s not much going on in downtown Cincinnati, the stadium has no tailgating space, and Bengals games are rarely exciting.“ https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2021/07/10/cincinnati-bengals-nfl-worst-travel-destination-fans/
  10. Stone Brewing!! The pride of San Diego.
  11. Interesting topic David. I think these things take time. And right, Columbus indeed has some great history and historic spots but so much is still so relatively new.
  12. Looks great! Love USL. My dad is from Queens and he's quite happy to see the old neighborhood getting a team. Still hoping for the Cosmos to get back....

^ What a man of integrity lol. Actually it's kind of sad watching someone who was by all accounts respected turn himself into a clown. What's his endgame here? He's not getting elected, but he's still a clown.
  14. Oh, any news on the fate of the Gilman building? Could be a pretty great anchor for new retail/residential.
  15. Let's hope there's significant momentum toward spinoff development. I know none of us wants to see these blocks of prime real estate looking incomplete for years and years.
  16. Right? I've been going down the rabbit hole on youtube and it's just so interesting, and mysterious, in that there's so much we don't know.
  17. I was shocked to find out that many of the projectile points my mom and aunt had found in Northeast Ohio date back 8,000 years. http://www.projectilepoints.net/Search/Ohio_Search.html

Okay, it was either: 1. Naturally occurring and the Wuhan lab proximity is a coincidence. 2. Lab created and accidentally released. 3. Lab created and intentionally released by Chinese govt. 4. Lab created and intentionally released by a rogue agent or agents. My uneducated guess is no. 2. But then again we live in a world that more and more seems just like a bad Steven Segal movie, so no. 3 and 4. wouldn’t surprise me. Either way I don’t believe we shall ever know the truth.

I can’t seem to get into podcasts, sort of an aversion to audio that is pre-recorded. But your show sounds interesting, I’d check that out. My my dad still has cable, mainly for hockey and baseball. He habitually switches to Fox “News” at night and it has devolved almost entirely into propaganda.
  20. I knew it! I was shocked to see him playing the other day after getting hit like that.

You just reminded me....the more I think about it the more I'm absolutely certain that people will be shooting at this thing.

Can Justin Bibb’s ‘change’ campaign reverse a 15-year slide in Cleveland voter turnout? MARK OPREAJUNE 14, 2021 On a cool evening in early May, Justin Bibb is out knocking on doors, canvassing a series of blocks on Cleveland’s far west side with his 31-year-old campaign manager Ryan Puente, the former executive director of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party. In his pearl-colored Walter Hagen polo, bright gold wristwatch and tortoiseshell specs, Bibb, a candidate for mayor, resembles more of an espresso-drinking coastal architect than your typical Rust Belt politician. As he jogs from door-to-door, Bibb shouts loudly through his facemask: “Hi! I’m Justin Bibb! I’m running for Mayor of Cleveland!” As Bibb tours the block, as he will do nightly until the September 14 primary, he entertains a range of responses. Some residents have already settled on Dennis Kucinich as their candidate. Others recognize Bibb’s smile from a Zoom talk, and are intrigued by his bold policy ideas or his unwavering eye contact. And for those who don’t recognize him at all, Bibb lays on his full-voiced pitch—“I want to bring new energy, fresh ideas to City Hall”—coupled with an ear for the big concerns of the neighborhood, from community policing to securing a city-wide recycling contract. https://www.thelandcle.org/stories/can-justin-bibbs-change-campaign-reverse-a-15-year-slide-in-cleveland-voter-turnout
  24. Also will help if CSU can continue to improve their southern border of campus. For the most part is has clearly looked like their backyard. Still very cool to know that eventually PS, Campus District and Avenue/9-12 will all seem like one big neighborhood.
