  1. Wow. I can't quite explain why I dislike this so much. There's so many overlapping bad elements it's almost overwhelming.
  2. Those extra residents are hopefully another step toward getting the theater back in use in some way shape or form. It is still there, right?

Agree this was such a great and commendable idea by the NHL. Also I remember the MLB had games set for the Field of Dreams in Iowa, but then we got the plague. I'd sure love to see more of these non-traditional settings.
  4. Seriously this thing reminds me of the Death Star. And the historic facade in this context just looks ridiculous. The street corner in particular looks like a disaster. They should've set this whole thing back and retained the the far superior street presence of the original buildings.
  5. It's exciting to think that it's possible that all those gaps in downtown could soon be filled.

I think the main reason I cant get into podcasts is that they're not in the moment. The one reason I still listen to radio is the connection. That what you're hearing is current. I listen to NPR, sports talk and the radio stations coming out of Mexico...they still play some pretty good stuff down there.
  7. I think Wentz would have a hard time matching Rivers next season, but we shall see.
  8. Same with Chicago and Cuyahoga County.
  9. Wow. I'm so glad the kids appear to be okay. We have so many Americans in prison already, but you read stories like this every day and realize we need even more people put away. Not to be abused, but simply just be kept away from normal people in society.
  10. I'm wondering if Dewine has a "transit task force" that's just like his revered energy siting board.

Right. It was commonly said that Lerner was the one flying Modell from Cleveland to Baltimore. But for whatever reason Lerner was never portrayed as the villain. But man, how all that went down was just a complete kick in the face of all those fans who did nothing but support the franchise. The NFL are the true villains.
  12. It would be most interesting to see a cost-benefit analysis of all the options. It does however seem the real estate directly under and near the bridge is practically worthless* in its current state. *I think UO is a safe space to term surface parking as worthless :-)
  13. I really like this route for CLE, but would take the 3C first and foremost. **Also, to see my hometown on this map is quite astounding. Brick Township NJ, when I was growing up was about 30 square miles of pine barren forest....and there were STILL dirt roads in my neighborhood.
  14. Well, I guess my personally preferred version of the Lakefront Plan just died.
  15. With blank windowless walls lined with yews.

Nah you're way off. He's sleepy, like a fox. Everyone knows the first step to negotiation is to act super ambivalent and pretend that any continued effort isn't worth your while. Just watch, the NFL will be begging for another round in the CLE.
  17. As someone who lives in Cali, me too ;-)
  18. Have you seen the original roof proposal? I thought it actually looked pretty cool. [edit] here....

RUBBERHEAD: AKRON’S LASTING IMPACT ON CHUCK STATLER, GODFATHER OF MUSIC VIDEO JP OLSEN JANUARY 26, 2021 Chuck Statler started his long career in innovative and influential music video by collaborating with his classmates and fellow-pranksters at Kent State University, Mark Mothersbaugh and Jerry Casale of Devo. It all began with the landmark DEVO: In the Beginning Was the End and, from there, led to work with a who’s who of cool musical collaborators (Pere Ubu, Prince, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, James Chance, Graham Parker, Madness, among others). JP Olsen interviewed Statler about his Akron past and career in filmmaking. https://pleasekillme.com/chuck-statler/?utm_source=PKM+Newsletter&utm_campaign=82494e477a-PKM_Weekly_Newsletter_1_29_21&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_4491fdd1df-82494e477a-261920806&mc_cid=82494e477a&mc_eid=d9319d3497

But the Clinton-connection didn't help Strickland. And then they probably killed him....haven't heard from him in a while.

Just give him an OSU hat and a flannel shirt. Elected.
  22. Holy cow I'm just barely inside the area, the next street west is outside of it. I was planning on some pretty extensive renovations in April, now I'm wondering if I should be waiting to see what happens.
  23. Great news! Now does anyone have a map I can see without a microscope lol??

God, I know you're up there.....please please PLEASE let your angel, Dan Gilbert buy the Chargers from the demon Dean Spanos, and move the team back to where they belong in San Diego, California. Thank you.

I honestly feel like proponents of "monorail" need to rebrand because as you said, everyone considers it a joke. Or if they're not identifying it with that disaster (that Simpson's episode with raccoons eating all the wiring) they associate it with theme parks and not a viable or credible option for urban transportation.
