Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Whoa, I just google walked down that road...it looks like there was a war there. Canal Road looks to be literally falling apart.

The city is using federal money to pay for the demolition. That's great. /s

NBA: General News & Discussion
Well I guess maybe when you own a helicopter it's not far at all. I really always hated helicopters in general. I've seen some recent stats that appear to show they're more dangerous than cars or other aircraft.

upvote because I really really liked that music video back in the day haha

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Huh, so potentially the Tower could block northern views from SHW HQ.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Huh, I hope not. Residents need things like duct tape, tools, cleaning supplies, etc. Samsel provides all those things, and could easily adjust further to serve the neighborhood. https://www.samselsupply.com/store.html

Brecksville: Sherwin-Williams Research & Development Center
There's a fiscally conservative argument for steering development within the traditional, centralized the area where huge infrastructural investments have already been made. Then again I suppose the other side of the argument would be that it doesn't make sense to re-invest somewhere where corruption or ineptitude makes the investment a bad one. SHW's decision, when it all comes to fruition someday, will be fascinating to really look at more in-depth. There's just so many angles to consider.

FTFY! But seriously your point about that first impression impact on visitors is a valid one.

Lakewood: Development and News
Green Room was beloved. And now it's almost like never existed. Try googling it....maybe you'll have better skills because I found nothing. At least Capsule was immortalized by this yelp review. https://www.yelp.com/biz/capsule-lakewood

Lakewood: Development and News
Capsule was insanely cool! Ya know it's really about time for a retrospective on that era. It's interesting from an urban planning perspective, how the hood rose up so organically, only to fade out. I mean there appeared to be zero public support....no fancy streescape improvements, no bikelanes, no outward civic organization (that I'm aware of), a perception of crime and seediness, actual seediness lol. But all in all a really great time to experience. "The Village on Madison"

Lakewood: Development and News
From what I understand there was a falling out between co-owners at Manja, maybe a divorce? Well I can't remember exactly. But the bartender once told me that the remaining owner "didn't want the place to be crowded with the old customers." Very strange. And they succeeded lol. No more events, sporadic hours, closed for days at a time, etc. etc. I think a foosball table is their "draw" for the 3-4 people that still go there.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Last night the Dolans were honored at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards, and Paul Dolan ends his speech with this awkward comment: “I’m very very excited about this years’ season. We have a good crop of young players. We saw them start to develop last year. And of course we have some old stars," Dolan said with a smile. "One of whom happens to play shortstop — who I know I’m going to enjoy. I’m not sure I can tell you people to enjoy him, but he is certainly fun to watch and I’m looking forward to some October baseball.” https://923thefan.radio.com/articles/dolan-family-presented-with-lifetime-achievement-award

Ha, I think I wore out a path going back and forth from Manja and Capsule.

^ Seems like a great mix of old and new. I predict this place will be quite a popular spot.

Brecksville: Sherwin-Williams Research & Development Center
Huh, I sort of figured. Their renderings for the site plan went from "great" to "meh" pretty quickly. Anyhow waiting on the R&D site and HQ design is making me anxious lol.

Brecksville: Sherwin-Williams Research & Development Center
"Synergy to the airport" sounds sexy. I'm actually surprised Sherwin - or some other company wouldn't jump on this site. The drawback I guess would be whether a strict, non-public use makes sense for this stretch of waterfront. From the article it seems the city and Geis are floating a more accessible mixed plan.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Would anyone else like to see those huge razor signs make a comeback downtown? I think a new vertical May Co. sign would look amazing. For whatever reason historic credits don't seem to apply to vintage signage.

Ouch. Those odds are not good. That Lucky's is better than Trader Joes. And a million times better than Giant Eagle.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Great news for Bottlehouse. While I haven't had the Tinman burger (looks good) I was able to check out Sauce the City at the Ohio City Galley and wow, that Cleveland Hot Chicken sandwich is worth every penny. Popular Tinman Burger to Land Permanent Home at Eugene Kitchen at BottleHouse Lakewood Posted By Douglas Trattner on Wed, Jan 15, 2020 Michael Schoen made a splash at the Ohio City Galley with his OG Tinman Burger, a double smash burger with American cheese, special sauce, and sweet and spicy pickles on a brioche bun. When Schoen ended his Galley residency at year’s end, fans were understandably heartbroken but clinging to reports that it – and its creator – would soon find a more permanent home. That home has been found in Lakewood, says Schoen. “I was approached by the guys from the BottleHouse about six or seven months ago,” he explains. “They asked me to take over the kitchen space at their brewery in Lakewood. It’s a huge kitchen that isn’t really being utilized.” It’s been about four years since the Cleveland Heights-based brewery took over the former Sullivan's Irish Pub space (13368 Madison Ave.) in the Birdtown neighborhood of Lakewood to focus on its line of meads. The large kitchen, when it was used at all, was the province of pop-up providers and caterers, who supplied the food for a never-ending stream of private events like weddings, baby showers and bachelorette parties. https://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2020/01/15/popular-tinman-burger-to-land-permanent-home-at-eugene-kitchen-at-bottlehouse-lakewood

What are you watching?
Nice on Mrs. Maisel, fun show. A friend of mine in Pitt sells vintage items (fabrics & such) for their set design. They do a great job imho. Man in High Castle is soo depressing, but I'm a sucker for alt history. It's very interesting to consider. And more proof that Stephen Root has the most amazing range as an actor!
