Some of those Westin superblock renders were really sweet. If SW does build there I hope they generously borrow much of that design. http://neo-trans.blogspot.com/2017/10/downtown-clevelands-next-big-building.html- Lakewood: Development and News

Okay. This is something the city and music venues needs to capitalize on immediately. I'm thinking an entire week of live shows and events leading up to the induction ceremony. Do it Cleveland!- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Haven't seen this posted anywhere. Lakefront makes sense for Cleveland Browns, says attorney who helped build FirstEnergy Stadium Author: Mark Naymik Published: 8:56 PM EDT September 22, 2019 CLEVELAND — Cleveland’s lakefront, which has been slowly developing over the last two decades, is a good place for a football stadium, says attorney Fred Nance. Global managing partner of the law firm Squire Patton Boggs, Nance negotiated in 1995 with the NFL on behalf of then-Cleveland Mayor White to keep football in town, after Art Modell, the owner of the old Browns, bolted for Baltimore. While the city leaders considered other sites, including a couple near Gateway, the sports complex that’s home to Progressive Field and Rocket Mortgage Field House, they settled on the footprint of old Municipal Stadium on the lakefront. Some critics have argued that the massive structure stymied expansion along the lakefront. “But ultimately the NFL was as interested as Mayor White in trying to keep it here at this location because we all foresaw the development of lakefront and the fact that Cleveland was going to become a place that had a vibrant downtown,” he said in a recently in an interview with Channel 3 outside FirstEnergy Stadium. “And a lot of those predictions have come true and I think the Browns had been part of some of those discussions about lakefront development.” https://www.wkyc.com/article/sports/nfl/browns/lakefront-makes-sense-for-browns-says-attorney-who-helped-build-firstenergy-stadium/95-fad6c61e-54d3-48ec-89e3-8f5819e454a5- Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
Not sure I understand the question. Do you mean "what currently exists" at the Phase II site? Or would a casino at the Phase II site be better than the Higbees location?- NFL: General News & Discussion
That's Dean's M.O. as an owner. Do as little as possible, then fail miserably. Then blame everyone else. The talk in SD this week is that in 2015 Joe Tsai (Alibaba founder) tried to buy the team to keep them in town, but Dean refused to sell.- Cleveland: Random Photos
Right. And expanded hours plus accessible outdoor displays & events by the Rock Hall and Science Center would make NCH a much much more lively place.- Lakewood: Development and News
True. But can those few streets in between make that much of a difference?- NFL: General News & Discussion
Haha right. People do care about football in LA, just not for the Chargers. I'm not kidding. There was an LA Times poll where the Bolts were the FOURTH most popular team in LA. It goes: 1. Raiders 2. Rams 3. OTHER 4. Chargers And if they had included college it's obvious they would fall to #6 behind USC and UCLA.- Lakewood: Development and News

Well, agree these numbers are only a part of a bigger, more complex picture. But it's not like the Rockport units are going for $600k. Plus there are Gold Coast units going for under $100k.- Lakewood: Development and News

Chargers Stadium is Still Embarrassingly Empty Ryan Phillips The Los Angeles Chargers are in their third season in LA and yet they still can't fill their tiny soccer stadium home. On Sunday it was clear that if there's not a massive contingent of opposing fans, Dignity Health Sports Park won't get filled. The Houston Texans didn't travel particularly well to LA this week, and that left a ton of empty seats in the stands. The game will likely be listed as a "sellout." That's only because ticket brokers likely bought season ticket packages in hopes of selling them off to opposing fans. They clearly didn't unload them this week. The Chargers have to be freaking out right now. They've had almost three years to build a fan base in Los Angeles and still can't reliably pack a 25,000-seat stadium with their own fans. It's mind-boggling and just more evidence that Los Angeles doesn't want them and never did. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/chargers-stadium-is-still-embarrassingly-empty/ar-AAHGgHO- NFL: General News & Discussion

That design was in homage to the industrial heritage of the city. I like it! If anyone can dig up the original commercials that ran when the Jake opened, wow, that was a truly great ad campaign. It really sold how special the game is.- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Absolutely agree. Though I'm skeptical about how the beach would turn out, as beaches within breakwalls have a more issues with pollutants vs. open water beaches. But you have to like where Pace is coming from. Those wetland numbers are sobering, and a reminder of why runoff has been such an issue on Lake Erie. It's actually kind of strange that there isn't demand for more wetland restoration as a matter of law. Anyhow, if you look at Chicago and Toronto, their plans to to re-naturalize their shoreline look pretty incredible, and probably where Pace is getting his ideas. Call it coastal envy! https://www.som.com/projects/chicago_lakeside_master_plan https://www.blogto.com/city/2016/03/torontos_waterfront_will_change_completely_in_10_years/- Cleveland Browns Discussion
This bad offense is mostly on the coaches. How do you not hand the ball off with a fresh set of downs 5 yds from the goal line and with THREE timeouts? Stupid. How do you run the ball with 4th and long? Stupid. Everyone at the bar tonight was laughing at the play calling, like watching the Browns of old. Hate to say that windbag Collin Cowherd is right. Freddie Kitchens does look to be over his head. This is low IQ football. - Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
