I think a "Return of the Force" would be pretty effective marketing vs. a totally new name I'm guessing a lot of people probably won't like.

This was a very well done article. Props to Platform for thinking outside the box, having good graphic design and reinvigorating that forlorn stretch of Lorain Ave. But I've always preferred GLBC, Market, Platform, Noble Beast, Hansa, Forest City, Masthead....virtually every other brewery over those guys.

About to finish Guns, Germs & Steel by Jared Diamond. Very thought-provoking look into human history. While there's so much we don't know,the author does a good job of piecing the story together with exhaustive research. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns,_Germs,_and_Steel The book attempts to explain why Eurasian and North African civilizations have survived and conquered others, while arguing against the idea that Eurasian hegemony is due to any form of Eurasian intellectual, moral, or inherent genetic superiority. When cultural or genetic differences have favored Eurasians (for example, written language or the development among Eurasians of resistance to endemic diseases), he asserts that these advantages occurred because of the influence of geography on societies and cultures (for example, by facilitating commerce and trade between different cultures) and were not inherent in the Eurasian genomes.

The backlash is not surprising. I wonder how this will all shake out? Constellation Bev (Corona, etc.) bought out San Diego local Ballast Point Brewing for ONE BILLION DOLLARS. But Constellation swore they wouldn't mess with the company structure or the ingredients, they didn't want to disrupt what made Ballast Point so popular. Maybe InBev takes the same approach here.

Interesting points for discussion. I'd posit that there's indeed something about "the West" that brings out or allows a higher level of fringe beliefs and behavior, for better or for worse. Very different than the veritable conformist police state I experienced in New Jersey.

Good point. Not to get too off topic, but imagine how different things would've been had they simply dug these huge wastewater storage tunnels 150 years ago, back when such large projects were commonplace. The Cuyahoga River would probably be pristine.

Wow I hardly recognize the place! Anyone else remember when Mayor Dan P. proposed tearing down that entire section of downtown, including the CIvic? Thank God that didn't happen. These buildings are so cool and, as we are seeing, they have a character that just can not be replicated with a new build.

Well, I think the rain gardens are a really good idea. For too long our lake-adjacent communities haven't done enough to safeguard our greatest resource. Urban runoff (and taxing the sewers systems with rainwater) is arguably the biggest problem. [edit: oops, exactly what @KFM44107 said]

FYI AG gets thousands of applicants from all over the world for an opening position. They hire the best prospective artists in the field. Same with Hallmark in Kansas City. They’re not hurting for talent.
