  1. This is near where I live. Take my word for it, this setup is very much an improvement for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and all of the businesses fronting the road (which is the Pacific Coast Highway by the way).
  2. Not necessarily. It's all how they're designed. Check out this before and after shot of La Jolla Blvd in San Diego. It's a world of improvement for pedestrians. https://www.cnu.org/publicsquare/2018/01/10/road-diet-bridges-barrier-boosts-safety
  3. Respectfully couldn’t disagree more. The current convergence of speeding traffic is so dangerous for cyclists.
  4. ^ you know all those movies where the ugly girl that nobody likes turns out she’s really gorgeous underneath the messy pony tail and Salvation Army-baggy clothes? Thats our never ending storyline lol.
  5. Fair enough. I’m interested in hearing about what you think about the program. Specifically what positive effects you expect it to have.
  6. Well I get that. It’s a good message to encourage people to educate and empower themselves. But this article seems to have a different tonal message and altogether different, top down oversimplified solution to what we know is a very terribly complex problem. I’d like to get a better idea of what this program really does. My initial thoughts are that it’s limousine liberal approach that won’t get any traction. I hope I’m wrong.

Ha! Too true. Kyrie to NY’s version of the Clippers is interesting. Actually the Nets would dream of being as relevant as the Clippers.

^ I have a feeling this will be a great trade for both teams.
  9. Nice. Did you even read the article? I’m guessing you didn’t.
  10. Okay then. For the sake of discussion what is your definition of a “black leader?”
  11. Maybe I’m incorrect, or misreading the context of the word “leader” in this instance. My instinctive reaction to telling people “you need a leader to succeed” is extremely condescending. Also it’s strange to suggest that someone who is not black cannot be a “leader” or role model or pillar of a predominantly black neighborhood.
  12. How about just being a leader? In THE community.
  13. Breaking through these limitations, McShepard asserts, takes a leader with a combination of key traits: credibility in the community, the civic world and business; knowledge of the issues facing Cleveland; a track record of delivering on projects and initiatives; an appetite for leadership and the autonomy to speak and act freely on behalf of the community without fear of reprisal or professional repercussion. This statement leaves out being black as a prerequisite. Perhaps I’m too idealistic but this notion that your skin color determines your worth or credibility is really depressing.

When the levels are this high, we should sell some to Arizona & China lol.

Glad, and still very shocked to see GSW lose last night. I was sure the Raptors would crash and burn, but KL played just good enough, role guys like VanFleet stepped up big time, Gasol was....there, and Lowery was great and didn’t even get a chance to ruin it at the end. it will be interesting to see how the Warriors bounce back. I had to laugh at one point, after Klay went down I think it was Van Gundy who said “Golden State has no business still being in this game!!!” Um, they still had Steph and Draymond and Cousins, you know, THREE perennial all-star players lol.
  16. I was just wondering why I’ve never tailgated on top of that parking garage.

The Raptors picked the worst time to Raptor.
  18. It’s funny. I see that building and that unique, very distinct smell is suddenly haunting me again, even though it’s been years since I’ve been there.
  19. ^ That Avenue plan (Zaremba?) would’ve been nice. The one building they did manage to finish sure looks lonely over there.
  20. Nice. This makes way too much sense to ignore. I hope I’m alive to see it happen.
  21. ^ great, now send those same contractors over to One Lakewood Place!
  22. So they are NOT opening up windows and doorways on the side of the existing building. That’s very unfortunate.
  23. The panels remind me so much of this lizard...
  24. This is what people in a hurry just read lol.
