The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
^ Haha that's great. And after their hip, Athens wedding they lived Happily Ever Corgi while wearing their Homage shirts!

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
I don't think there's a realistic chance of him moving the team. But if he does, the Browns fans worldwide are going to declare all out war vs. him and the NFL.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Another Sunday of perfect weather in Cleveland, Ohio. Now imagine having to watch football played inside today in a fixed-roof stadium. Hey Jimmy if you're going to make us spend crazy money on this thing at least make the roof retractable.
-
Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
I noticed Jimmy didn’t mention why a roof over the current stadium wasn’t viable.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Listening to Baskin & Phelps discussing this project is just so depressing. They have absolutely been given their very shallow talking points. The reverent tones about Brookpark....like this thing is going to singlehandedly save Northeast Ohio. According to them Haslam is just entitled to make money off of this and there's really nothing we can do, because we want football. Lol. **Oh boy, they are going into full on suburban panic mode suggesting downtown is dangerous.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
This entire area is just undergoing a ridiculously good transformation right now. And there's still a lot of space just dying to be filled in. Come on Great Lakes you are Towpath adjacent with a world of new opportunity. Lets get the show on the road!

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Wow that is....not great. Six lanes! There's not even an east-west crosswalk north side of the intersection :-(

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
With the stadium gone, I think there's more hope for better integrating W 3rd into the bigger picture, whatever that bigger picture is. So far all the recent renderings make W 3rd north of the tracks look really uninteresting and overly car-centric.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
FYI We are talking about the high level shoreway bridge. You normally cannot bike over it, only in special circumstances. The jersey barrier sides would need to be made safer for pedestrians and cyclists because right now it's not at all designed for non-car use.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I got to bike across this bridge when they closed off traffic for a marathon. The wind kicked up and it started sleeting and snowing and the surface was suddenly so slippery I couldn't really stop...it was absolutely terrifying lol.

Lakewood: Downtown: CASTO Development
If they do intend to block the west side of the Curtis Building with Junipers etc. there's going to be a problem lol.

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
Great point and exactly why I think boardwalk and trail connections are so vital, not just for the parks but for the surrounding entertainment areas. I don't see either being as successful if the mindset is to drive there and park as close as possible in some huge surface lot. These places have to be safely accessible by walking or biking. It seems like we are headed in the right direction but damn it does take a long time! So worth it though.

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
Any insights on whether this nifty little boat will be a part of the park? https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/oh-cuyahoga/cuyahoga-river-advocates-hope-to-restore-putzfrau-boat-that-cleaned-up-the-river-after-1969-fire

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
Stormwater collection, native plants, honoring ecological and historical legacy, public gathering spaces, connection to trails.....an emphatic YES to all of this.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
FWIW last week Kurt Warner said he saw Watson miss open receivers like 24 separate times vs. Washington. That seems like a lot.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
I can assure you that drugs are a lot more entertaining than watching the NFL and the penalties called on virtually every play of the game.
-
Ohio Marijuana News
It's asinine, but look at the bright side...the state could have mandated even more asinine rules and didn't.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park
That section of the Towpath is a favorite! My friends and I do some evening/night rides from there to Peninsula Winking Lizard and back every Fall. So much fun.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Good Lord.....how is that record even possible in a league with a salary cap, and where the worst team gets the best pick in the draft? It's astounding.

Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
I was only referring to the comments on Instagram. There seemed to be a vocal minority against residential & retail planning that looked scary and different to them. These were people from Edward Scissorhands suburbs, rural exurbs or Russia lol, clearly not from Shaker.
-
Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Some of the comments are....interesting lol. It seems as if the many decades of suburban tract housing has created a generation of mindless knee jerk anti-planning government-hating 'Merican patriots.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Fun fact: The San Diego Padres also drafted Johnny Manziel. He could've saved Browns fans a lot of time by choosing baseball instead.

Lakewood: Development and News
It is with cautious optimism I am glad to report the long delayed Birdtown Brewing Company seems to finally be back on track. There are now full crews doing work all over the complex. I swear for like the last two years it was just random sightings one old looking guy struggling to carry single sheets of drywall inside the new addition.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
the application process isn’t entirely public. Atlanta is mentioned as a possibility in the NYT article.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
Here's my quick rundown of the NYT article: -NWSL is expected to make their selection before the end of this year -Cleveland Soccer Group's (CSG) chances have grown after securing land for a downtown stadium -Stadium would be 12,500 seats and expandable to 20k. -CSG study showing economic impact projected at $4billion over 30 years from the stadium. -Cleveland is a "high profile bidder" but there are about a dozen other markets vying for selection, with specific mention of Cincy, JAX, Denver and speculation around ATL, Nashville. -The dude Murphy from CSG is adamant that Cleveland is a major league sports market.
