Cleveland: West Side Market News & Info
From Alan Glazen’s FB: For those following the West Side Market Story, you can have access to the final proposal V3.0 for the Makers & Famers Hall, which we submitted to the city, and received a five word response: DOES NOT FIT THE TEMPLATE. You can read the entire proposal, but in summary, it included a $500,000 investment from our 501C3 corp, a complete re-do of the near vacant n/s produce section, addition of chairs, tables, food, drink, samples, education, every food product made in Cleveland, and much more. Plus, 100% of net profits would go to the actual WSM tenants association. PM me if you'd like to read the proposal so you can fully understand what we're up against when it comes to this iconic public marketplace.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
By utilizing different lighting, sound, music and menus, the Ivy will evolve from casual happy hour meetup to stylish dinner-date venue to riotous dance party place. This trying to be all things sounds like a recipe for failure.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
It’s bizarre that so many distressed areas of the city are not in the Zone. This is not how “market solutions” are supposed to work, where a dartboard chooses winning and losing neighborhoods.

Gotcha. It just seems to make sense to utilize that space in some meaningful way.

Lakewood: Development and News
If only there was a news source in Lakewood. The only thing I ever hear about anymore is the hospital. And people on FB who are afraid of density and this strange idea that Lakewood has bad traffic.

My friends in Lakewood chose Urban Community School on Lorain and they and the kids are very happy so far.

So apparently the Phantasy complex is not only still open, but it’s getting renovated and hosting a new record store? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2019/03/black-market-record-store-opening-at-new-lakewood-location-next-month.html%3foutputType=amp https://www.phantasycleveland.com/

^ The competition for OF should be interesting to watch. I'm again losing track of how many OF there are. Plus Zimmer coming back too. https://www.letsgotribe.com/2019/3/18/18269615/indians-have-triple-a-outfield-problem

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
^ I'm sure the small businesses on Clifton and Lake would love having more residents. The plan to spruce up Lake Ave. should do wonders in helping connect Edgewater with Detroit-Shoreway. As we finally see newfound appreciation for the lake and more investment around that shabby stretch of Lake Ave., I do believe your building could someday soon be a reality. p.s. seems to be lots of space between the shoreway ramp and railroad tracks adjacent to that cool old public works building. So keep drawing lol.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
With the lakefront and Norrh Coast Harbor being so vital for the future, it’s really disconcerting that after all these years there still not a comprehensive plan or set of criteria to legally ensure that our waterfront is accessible and well-designed. We are basically at the mercy of whatever developer that manages to secure financing. [edit: grammer]

Huh. I was wondering from the tone of the first few sentences if they were considering some kind of building spree.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
I have always loved the lively lights and the revelry at PS. It is New York-esque in a way. My wish was that it could be the consolidated “media center” of the city with tv and a radio row. but alas, we sprawl. I would love to live there once the hood grows up a little bit more.

Ok I gotta ask. What would you do with $70M? Of course keep in mind Public Square aka Jersey Barrier Square somehow cost $30M.

Losing Brantley, who I think was the consummate CLE player, was tough. Freaking Astros. Here’s hoping you’re right and Allen and Mercado break out. Naquin may even surface once again. And some are very high on Leonys.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Any predictions on who ends up starting in OF? I swear this team has had 27 different outfielders in the last few years. I miss the era of knowing it was simply Belle/Loften/Ramírez!

^ His voice rightfully carried across time and genre. So good! My mom would have turned 89 last week. She graduated from Wooster High School in 1948, when THE Cleveland Indians won the World Series ?

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Interesting. This has to be futre residential or mixed use. I kinda hope they keep and renovate the original buildings, at least in front. Maintain some of the historic scale.
