Columbus: Short North Developments and News
surfohio replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt's getting to the point where I can't even visualize where these buildings are anymore - so much construction! Question for those still in Columbus: how much more space is there in SN for future growth? Is it close to being built-out? What do the next 5 years have in store?

Lake Erie Restoration and Environmental Issues
Lake Erie paddlers form Northern Ohio Surfrider Foundation to clean lakes, rivers By Laura Johnston, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Ohio now has its own chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, a Malibu-founded organization working to protect rivers, lakes and oceans. The Northern Ohio chapter formed in April and is still "finding its sea legs," said chair Christy Gray. It will roll out its big initiative at a meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at Saucy Brew Works, 2885 Detroit Ave. So far, Surfrider has hosted beach clean-ups and a Cuyahoga River clean-up with the Port of Cleveland's Flotsam and Jetsam boats, before the big Head of the Cuyahoga regatta. "Now we're trying to figure out how to find a place in this environment," said Gray, a stand-up paddler. https://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2018/10/lake_erie_paddlers_form_northe.html

Kluber's last four playoff starts have been pretty bad. Here's hoping he gets another chance to turn it around.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
At age 75! Al Jardine's voice is spot on. Brian Wilson can't really sing anymore, but I'm sure glad he's still around. I'm digging how stripped down this version is...one of the best lead basslines ever imho.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
Bingo. CSU or St. Ignatius are obvious targets for collaboration. Solon or Bedford are Siberia. I'll probably draw some flak for thinking of Collinwood and Shaker Heights as "almost" Siberia. cleguy9618[/member]'s mention of Kamm's Corners is interesting, but even that is too far off the grid in my humble opinion.

Maybe one of the marine stores? West Marine on St. Clair or Samsel Supply in the Flats.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Right. And a dishonorable mention for the number of dropped passes. The inconsistencies across the board are really perplexing. The silver (and black) lining of yesterday was that the game was exciting. It was so exciting I had to turn the game off because my family was getting upset at my language. And they didn't deserve to hear it. It's one thing when players make mistakes, but when the refs hose your team I think you need to curse at something.

I’m curious as to whether there will be the same fervor I’ve seen in other locations. Hour long lines down the street.

It's too late I'm already in love with the rendering of those two buildings. Curvy!

Other States: Passenger Rail News
And that's the greatest danger of all. The media has done this project no favors by not revealing how much has already been built, chief among them the LA Times. For as much as people complain about traffic you would think they would be all over it. But I think it's simply timeframe required for something of this magnitude. They're not paying attention because it's years away from happening. Anyhow the bellwether isn't really what the Rep candidate says about HSR but whether Dem heir apparent Gavin Newsom stays "on board." (sorry)
