Other States: Passenger Rail News
Only among people who want to be opposed to HSR. They're not being carried out by the same sponsors/oversight agencies. Most people I talk with in CA aren't very knowledgeable of the HSR specifics. But with virtually everyone I talk with there is a growing fatigue against large projects and taxes in general. Just watch the Republican gov candidate paint this Transbay debacle as a prime reason to put the brakes on further construction.

Other States: Passenger Rail News
It will be interesting to see if this turns more public opinion against the HSR project. 2nd crack at SF Transbay Transit Center — to stay closed through next week Kurtis Alexander and Evan Sernoffsky Sep. 27, 2018 San Francisco’s new Transbay Transit Center will remain closed at least through the end of next week, officials said Wednesday, after yet another cracked beam was discovered during an overnight safety inspection. The $2.2 billion hub for buses and eventually trains, which opened just last month as the flashy centerpiece of city infrastructure, was closed abruptly Tuesday afternoon after a fissure was spotted in a beam that helps hold up the sprawling complex. https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/SF-Transbay-Transit-Center-remains-closed-after-13260131.php

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
^ The consultants defined downtown as four Census tracts between the Innerbelt and Lake Erie, including portions of the west bank of the Flats and all of Burke Lakefront Airport. Hmm, think of all the suburban cul-de-sac's we could fit at Burke lol. Good news. Here's hoping financing gets a bit easier to come by.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Hopefully this new group will help spur some momentum. The Coalition has proposed two connectivity projects: The GRC Harbor Land Bridge Proposal creates a descending green space from Mall C (over the Convention Center) to the proposed connector building between the Rock Hall and Science Center, and bridging rail lines, freeway and side streets. (Details – refer to Projects Section) GRC has also proposed realigning I-90 through the former First Energy Power Plant site to create an expanded Gordon Park footprint, and facilitate better access to the Lakefront Nature Preserve, approaches to the trails along the MLK Blvd through the Cultural Gardens to University Circle, and opening-up development opportunities and connections in the adjacent neighborhoods. ^ The natural light argument at least makes some sense. The ingress/egress argument makes no sense whatsoever.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Baker played great; balled out, in fact. But let’s not derive any significance from that. Johnny Manziel led the NFL in Jersey sales. Now he’s a middle of the road CFL QB I just thought the uniforms looked great. Other teams fans seem to like them as well.

Enough X's and 0's...let's talk uniforms! Fans of OTHER TEAMS are ordering the Mayfield color rush jersey.

I'm not sold on the line being so bad. I mean, our RB's ran for 140 yards.

Browns recipe for success is: WR Damion Ratley. FEED THE RAT!!!!!!!

Some key injuries on the Browns. Who knows how well Darnold will play tonight. I actually think McCown gives the Jets a better chance to win. More importantly, I think the uniforms are going to look great.

Amtrak & Federal: Passenger Rail News
My boss hates flying and she needs to get to the Bay Area for a meeting. She asked if the train was an option so a few of us were checking, all of us were having trouble with the site (could be our system). Every option (SD-SF and SD-OAK) seems to require a bus transfer at some point, and she said "under no circumstance will I get on a bus." Lol. I think someone just found her a route where she can ditch the transfer bus and take an Uber/Lyft instead.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Todd Haley is going to need to focus 100 percent on the offense. I don't know how he's proven he can take on more responsibility. I'd probably give Hue Jackson the entire season. Now if there are disastrous coaching blunders then yes, you probably have to hit a hard reset on the head coaching position. I just don't understand how if the team keeps losing the answer is to promote someone who is complicit, ie the coordinators. Also, while Hue's certainly not the best coach in the league we can thank Jimmy Haslam for that horrendous record. If you heard Joe Thomas today he admitted the GM created a roster that would purposely tank. No coach is going to miraculously win games with the "talent" this franchise has employed.

I'm pretty ecstatic that "close walk to Edgewater Park" is now a very real selling point in real estate listings. I wasn't sure I would see these changes happen in my lifetime.
