Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Not sure if this comment belongs in the SWH thread... but do any fellow UO posters have information as to how the crane operators actually do their work? For example, how long are their shifts ? Where do they eat? Do they climb all the way down if they have to relieve themselves? How much distance does the cab sway in the wind before they need to shut ecerything down. As someone who is afraid of heights, I find a crane operator's job both fascinating and kind of freaky.

East Palestine Train Derailment
This may or may not be true. One example of available sensor technology that could potentially have prevented this derailment are axle accelerometers that would detect excessive wheel bearing vibration well before catastrophic failure. Then, there is the more obvious culprit in this specific EP accident that NS has set a ridiculously high temperature limit for the periodic hot boxes that would signal mandatory stoppage of the train. What else am I missing here @KJPand other UO posters that are experts in this subject?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Based on @KJP's photo above showing the building's central cement core and imagining an overlay of the rendering posted by @CleveFan, I would guess the vertical lighting will be visible, but skewed a bit to the right side from this viewpoint. Close enough. Cheers!

Thank you @Boomerang_Brianfor including me in the list of invitees. I'm a former native Clevelander living near Philly who spends an inordinate amount of time on this site because ... well, I'm fully vested in NE Ohio's and all of Ohio's success. Soon i will be erecting a backyard tower and high power telescope I once stole from a shed behind the Warner and Swasey Observatory to watch the progress of the present and future downtown Cleveland construction boom. Finally, i very much appreciate the dedication of many, many posters to making UO such an enjoyable and informative site.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
We UO members evidently have become SWH construction addicts. A little fix each day keeps us running. Hopefully, there is another large scale construction project underway when this one ends.- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
@MyPhoneDeadPerhaps they are throwing in the towel on the national park built on top of the former fountain?- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
Gosh darn, those supertalls are an acquired taste. Simultaneously exciting and disjointed. Maybe we should ask @Geowizicalto render a few of them into the 3 C downtowns to see what our futures may hold. 😉- Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Snipped below from the Atlantic article that @MayDayposted. Hey! What's up with this..., Mr. Williams?- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Fraternal twins with presumably one a great beauty and the other ....TBD? 😉- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
Darkness at the top of Erieview tower was part of the ambience inside in the old "Top of the Town" restaurant some 40 years ago when I last visited! 😉- Higher Education
Ha ha... LOL. White privilege blah, blah, blah... However, to give them credit, the interior sure looks like something straight out of Architectural Digest. Much different back when I lived in a frat one of the necessary evils of living on the first floor was cleaning up the detritus of the previous night's festivities before one could use the john in the morning.- Cleveland: Downtown: A.J. Celebrezze Federal Building Renovation
Apologies! I wasnt around these UO parts back when this cladding retrofit was completed. Does anyone have any photos of what the view looks like now when looking out of the windows on the South and West facades? I'm having trouble of developing a good mental image of what a 2.5 ft gap between the original windows and new exterior would actually mean to the the interior spaces. I can imagine it would feel a bit claustrophobic if you had a window seat. Plus, how do they keep the now three (?) glass surfaces clean?- Weather
Appreciate all of the Christmas miracles, big and small, but very sad about all of the storm deaths. Happy Holidays.- 2022 FIFA World Cup
Fantastic World Cup tournament. Can't wait until 2026. I propose that we each take a pledge assuming of sound mind in 2026, that we will not debate the reasons why or why not soccer has grown in popularity in the US since the last World Cup. Our conversation reminded me at times of the Chief Wahoo debate over the past 35 years. At least no one here claimed to have spent time with their best friend's cousins on a Native American reservation playing soccer on a rock strewn field wearing their Chief Wahoo caps. *rant over*- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Love the ambition of this plan and the renderings. Super props to get this vision rolling in spite of historical obstacles. Disappointed that Bedrock is willing to gut the newly developed National park inside the Avenue mall. Perhaps there was some infighting on the design team on this very issue.- Cleveland: Downtown: Standard Building
Any update on the mural to be painted on the side of the Standard Building by Julie Mehretu? Thanks a bunch!- Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Great interview and article, Ken. Very informative.- Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates

A different question, why did AG build such an uninspiring building? Of course, I've never been inside so my apologies if I missed something essential. - D.O- Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Patience Grasshopper, @Boomerang_Brianis correct. Much of the backlight coloring can be changed as they are LEDs. Some of the canopy lights facing downward are traditional marquee incadescent 11W bulbs. Other bulbs facing downward on the sidewalk are LEDs with full color spectrum. Furthermore, the Playhouse Square organization claims the gold color powder coating on structures will reflect light differently in daylight hours depending on local conditions. Check out the presentation link on the Landmarks Commission website if you have a free 2 hr. Bravo.- Cleveland Browns Discussion
Rip Van Winkle himself could parachute into this thread today and determine the season isn't going very well for the Browns if we are arguing about A. Modell. 😂- Cleveland Browns Discussion

@MrRTo my untrained eye, it looks like they are building a box in the middle of the lunch room. 😏- Toronto: Developments and News
