  1. I'll be a contrarian here and say this statement is pretty innocuous. If I was I flying into LAX, I would be super excited to see SoFi Stadium from the airplane window, just as I equally would flying into Cleveland regardless of where a new or refurbished Browns stadium is located. I realize you guys are just blowing off steam, ....so carry on! 🤐
  2. Allow me to translate Ken's cryptic message. "FEB2-Ver2" could be code language for either digging a new shipping channel or a highway tunnel to replace the Main Ave bridge. Or, construction of the skyline changing hotel. .....Ok, the last part is a joke.
  3. @Willo Our Columbus friends might not be in favor of the "factory of sadness" Browns playing in the beloved Shoe. You know, cooties and all that. - DO
  4. Probably need a shout out to Hiroyuki Fujita, Ph.D. the founder and former CEO of QED and present Chairman of Canon Healthcare USA when spreading around congratulations here! It's clear that he was the reason Canon invested in greater Cleveland in the first place.
  5. I get it... It's a politics thread. However, again I just want to point out the lack of support for your premise of VR's actions leaving DOGE. He was forced out. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/vivek-ramaswamy-expected-to-depart-doge/
  6. Super! Looking forward to the update of this Dan Gilbert tribute in June after the next Cavaliers championship.
  7. The subsequent testing showed the thickness needs to be higher than they applied. So , SW had not received final certification from their test labs that their original applied thickness was effective. That's putting "the cart before the horse." They are fortunate that this was discovered now - in their own headquarters - and not after widespread industry adoption. @Bearcats31 Where are we in disagreement?
  8. I guess the silver lining here (assuming the headquarters was the first and only installation of this new fire retardant coating) is there is not a long line of angry external customers lined up to collect penalties from SW. Still ...not clear why they went ahead before the material was fully tested and qualified.
  9. Hi @Chris314 Where did you get these figures? If Ohio received $117M revenue in 2023 at 10% tax rate, that means revenue was more on the line of $1B in 2023, correct?
  10. I thought CWRU was going to rebrand itself as CASE? Maybe that was a trial balloon by the former president, Barb Snyder? Or, it's a slow walk out.
  11. What type of protective coating, please? The article is behind a paywall.
  12. Plus, that open ceiling is unlike anything I've ever seen in a library. Just from the photo alone it doesn't seem like it would provide any sound damping.
  13. My read is that they are just marketing the league to future investors and fans in other cities beyond the 2025 Boston and 2026 Denver expansion choices. No down side from the leagues perspective to keeping everyone else that wasn't awarded a team still hopeful.
  14. Well, certainly @KJP you are not far off. The street looks a 1000 yr old road built by the Roman Empire. I can make out multiple potholes, so we can add points for authenticity. But the best part is they included what looks like my old 1970's white Chevy van tooling down the road in a dust (road salt?) cloud headed out east.
  15. Top Ten Reasons for SW Tower construction redo. 1O. Building contractor furnished interior using Benjamin Moore paints. .... Carry-on esteemed UO community.
  16. This post is partly a joke, partly not. Turn over the grain elevators to Cleveland State/Case Engineering students to create a big energy storage battery. https://dakotafreepress.com/2022/06/05/use-elevators-to-store-green-energy/
  17. Jeez, what a buffoon. Maybe a time out in a rehab center, followed by a mea culpa is in order? Can we return back to vilifying the Haslams or others of their ilk? I'm not ready for this type of sh%&t.
  18. As someone that lives in the area, many of the PHL council members who have spoken publicly are saying they feel duped. They expended a lot of political capital throwing their supporting behind the original plan by Harris Blizter Sports & Entertainment to build in a dense neighborhood above an existing train station that closely bordered on Chinatown. It always made more sense to me to build new in South Philly. Somehow two competing organizations, Comcast Spectacor and the 76's owners, finally joined together on this new plan to most everyone's surprise. My interpretation is that because both PHL city and PA state governments offered no funding to HBSE, they got cold feet.
  19. This part helped sway them over too....
  20. Hi @MyPhoneDead.... its just a happy coincidence of position of the photographer @MayDay in a similar manner that a stopped clock is correct twice a day. This blocking effect should happen exactly twice as you traverse along a large 360 deg circle around downtown. Or MayDay is prescient and planned this all out back in 2009 ! 😉
