  1. @CLEastsiderWhat's apparently hidden in this great pic of this "DIY" crane dubbed Nessy is the gang of twenty workers tugging down on the cable so the whole thing doesn't fall over.
  2. This is photoshopped , right? 😃

@bumsquare You are really spoiling us with these beautiful photos of these old cities. Did you visit/plan to visit the new inflatable seawall?
  4. Agree with your boss too. @KJPGreat narration. As a general practice, agreeing with the boss in most matters seems to be a good life strategy.
  5. Me too! Wonder if my Philly zip code will give my survey input more cache. 😏
  6. @dave2017Maybe they are returning back to this earlier design ??

@bumsquareAnother beautiful set of photos. Although a few Hardcore UO aficionados may start wringing their hands at the relatively low number of people out on the street - reminiscent one of their favorite Ohio cities. 🙃

    Simply awesome, beautiful photos @bumsquare.
  9. Yikes! Only 16/17 on the cities. Thx for posting.
  10. Herr Dr. Professor Ken somehow figured it out - all before the new IBM quantum computer came online at the Clinic. 👨‍🏫👨‍🏫👨‍🏫
  11. Agree. Good posing. BTW, I got my unit picked out, but I'm not telling you!
  12. Wow, that's the bluest NEO sky ever...(❁´◡`❁)
  13. Well, grew up near Reading, PA, before moving at age 14 to Tennessee to launch her singing career. She's an Philly Eagles fan btw.
  14. I recognize that fuchsia pink color. Its most likely the cultivar "Appalachian Red," not the native species. Excellent choice by who ever selected them. Native redbuds have a more purple flower.
  15. Man, what's the expected lifespan for a south facing mural on a wall like this? Maybe, someone can dial up SW and negotiate a deal on their best external paint and clear coat. Whenever, I see a proposal similar to this, I try to imagine what it is going to look like ten years later.
  16. Note to UO Board, need to double payroll immediately.
  17. @cadmenHeavens know that you may indeed be a genius and have established decades of proof. 🤗 However, with no real expertise in aviation, my guess would be because the winds sometime change directions and they need the flexibility to change directions of either landings & takeoffs? @B767PILOTis this true?
  18. Hopefully, @Htsguy, they are not getting their plant recommendations from the same folks who designed the fountain park just inside. 😏 PS: thanks for the assist. Couldn't resistance such an easy layup.
  19. Downtown Cleveland's beauty starts and ends with the lakefront and riverfront. End of story. Neither of these things were apparently big on the founding industrialists' minds. Oh, that and a few beautiful buildings with pedestrian connections and parks between said riverfront and lakefront. Everything being proposed is a step in the right direction. (Ha ha! I don't typically post these 'Captain Obvious' sentiments. I'll let you guys return to your regularly scheduled programming).
  20. Man, that City Club Building exterior needs a good sand blasting or whatever it is they do to brighten it up.
  21. A bit jealous that Ken has a front row seat on the SWH build. 😃
  22. To those unhappy, how else would one expand this building? I haven't seen any early design iterations or alternatives and haven't spent much time viewing these new renderings. In my view, this design adds some interesting complexity and bulk to the site. Hey! Rock n Roll is complex too. Maybe not as much whimsy as the original building, but it feels like it isn't in dissonance, perhaps with the unfortunate exception of losing the focal point of entrance.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/03/11/upshot/office-conversions.html?searchResultPosition=1 Sweet article today in online NY Times on office building conversions to residential. Lots of architectural detail about the challenges of converting a modern office tower with a large floor plate vs. an early 20th Century building.
  25. Thanks @MayDay. I read the article and then ran a quick search on Youtube and (un?)fortunately there are more than a few videos taken from the top of the cranes. Big Yikes! Back to my regular rotation of kittens and baby chicks hanging out together in wicker baskets.
