  7. No way Geis would demolish the old AmeriTrust garage. That would create serious problems for them. Plus the cost of building new parking is exorbitant. The Shaia lot at E. 9th & Bolivar is a fantastic development site. Perhaps medical mutual is looking at the Weston deal, nuCLEus, or Public Square Jacob's lot?

  9. Unfortunately tax credits are super restrictive. Hopefully a smart politician will loosen some of the rules about windows.

If they want to build a new downtown tower, why not go to nuCLEus, or the Weston warehouse district parking lots, or one of the other prime surface parking lots (like the E. 9th lot next to Progressive Field). Why knock down buildings? Why forgo the opportunity to be on a corner?

  13. Yes I agree with you. But, have you ever tried to secure a multi million dollar loan for a residential project? Banks can be brutal.
  14. These townhomes are a big improvement to the ugly vacant lot that had been sitting there for decades. Townhome living options are helpful for those searching for variety downtown. When developers produce big, flashy, beautiful renderings, such as NuCleus, they usually never get done because financing is challenging.

  21. I doubt Forest City needs to be out by 2018. K&D could always extend the lease while they work on getting tax credits and construction drawings.
