  1. Thanks BCCLE1!!! Great information. Amazing picture, wish that building was still standing. This is a fantastic development site. I hope the property owner can put something together.
  2. What is the "Hippodrome Tower"? Where is it located? Has there been speculation of development there?
  3. The 'gate' is not a problem. Thank god someone is actually going to develop housing here. The plans are kinda plain but 1000x better than what's there now. The bigger question is what Zaremba is going to do on the bigger site.
  4. When does Yours Truly open? Anyone know?
  5. Cool, I will definitely go to 811 Prospect! And I will definitely avoid the 'INEBRIATION STATION' fraternity house.
  6. Is Moxie still going to open there? Or is this construction something else???
  7. Its too bad, I thought KJP had a awesome idea. I also agree that the river site should be saved for something more special for public recreation / entertainment.
  8. Salvation Army to launch $35 million construction program "The new Zelma George Emergency Family Shelter will go on property the Salvation Army acquired earlier this year next to Harbor Light, which serves as a half-way house and homeless shelter. The 29,044-square-foot building will cost $9.7 million to construct." http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20151102/NEWS/151109987/salvation-army-to-launch-35-million-construction-program
  9. KJP ... nice write up (and awesome artilce on the potential new skyscrapers)! How big of a footprint do you think is reasonably needed to build a Justice Center? 3 acres?
  10. I think people love the intermodal idea. But, I've heard that there are 2 BIG problems. 1. Moving Amtrak is crazy expensive. 2. Even without the cost of moving Amtrak, the project is still very expensive. Who pays for this? The City doesn't have the money. The potential proceeds for selling current Greyhound site would not be much more that $1 million due to the condition and various environmental problems. The County will resist paying for a new intermodal project. Raising sales taxes will be resisted by voters. A Tiger Grant will be a challenge to obtain and still won't cover all the costs. I have no idea if the state would fund this.
  11. Geis wanted to redevelop the Greyhound site a few years ago. That plan was then "railroaded" by a certain woman at the City. From what I've heard, Geis is no longer actively working on anything north of PHS. I heard they are working on plans for the old New York Spaghetti property area.
  12. Financing is not yet in place for a new building at E17th & Euclid. Hopefully it will be later this year and they break ground in 2017. We'll see.
  13. "The Downtown Cleveland Residents Association invites you to join neighbors and Downtown stakeholders for a public meeting regarding the proposed design of the Wild Eagle Saloon project located at 921 Huron Road (Huron and Prospect). We will discuss the current design of the Wild Eagle Saloon and collect your input and feedback. In addition, the DCRA will explain how we introduce Downtown resident opinion into the Cleveland City Planning Commission's design review process and how that affects development projects in our downtown neighborhood." WHEN: Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM WHERE The Clevelander Bar & Grill - 834 Huron Road
  14. Zaremba has been trying to develop this site for 10 years. Hopefully they are getting closer. On another note, I hope the Zimmerman townhouses break ground soon. I heard their delay has been getting the proper permits from City Hall to start construction.
  15. I heard groundbreaking will be in August.
  16. Yay!!! Does anyone know when Jeff Ruby's will open?
  17. I hope a new creative approach / team emerges to rehab the May Co. It would be great to see May Co happen. But I believe that 925 Euclid is much more catalytic. It's HUGE at 1.4 million square feet. I will have more retail / apartments / and office space then the May Co. And it will have a sizeable business incubator. It will be the flagship to give momentum to fixing the rest of all the run-down buildings on Euclid between Gateway and Playhouse Square.
  18. KJP is very accurate in his comments.
  19. Cool project! Love seeing small buildings restored!
  20. Can someone explain how a chain of title TIF works?
