  1. I heard from a good source that full-on construction will start in June.
  2. Yes, the sheets are hideous. They should replace with something nicer. Anyone know when the state decides on the historic $25m credit? Hope it goes to either May Co or to 925 Euclid.
  3. This is a SFW discussion forum.
  4. The County may loan some money for public improvements to both Gateway and Warehouse Districts.
  5. I wonder why Fitzgerald recommends County $$ for the May Company but not for 925 Euclid. 925 Euclid would be a 35% bigger project and may have a bigger impact on Downtown.
  6. New Campus International School will open in 2016 on Cleveland State University's campus http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/11/new_campus_international_schoo_2.html#incart_river
  7. The Knights of Columbus have prevented any progress on this block. They shun historical renovation and collaboration. Actually, owning these assets is totally unrelated to their charitable "mission". Weird.
  8. Love me that white terra cotta building next door
  9. I doubt Start has financing or even tenants.
  10. 1. Second Flats office building 2. Brinkman Duck Island mixed used development 3. - 5. not sure about the middle 6. Lakefront mixed use development
  11. Nice find. I was wondering about the delay.
  12. This is just speculation, but he must have a big anchor tenant who is interested in the site. I wonder if there's any chance American Greetings will ditch the boring suburbs and consider this site.
  13. I'm hoping that this is a future development site ...
  14. Why? Why can't both prosper? Similar things were said when East 4th came online, did people stop patronizing business in WHD? When the casino opened did it suck people off the streets of E4th and the WHD? if I recall, the changes helped downtown as a whole. As I've often said on this forum, why is it that people feel/think we cannot have more than one happening area or if one area improves/recreates itself, that other nearby areas will be hurt. Of course new people and people who like to explore their city will visit these new venues, but I don't foresee a radical shift in patronage or $$$. Of course both can prosper! Yes, there will be some shift of existing patrons and yes there will also be new patrons who are drawn to check out both areas.
  15. Once Phase 2 opens, I predict that some of the bar traffic will shift away from West 25th to hang out at the Flats.
  16. After American Greetings moves in, traffic in this part of Westlake will be really congested. Much more congested than Independence or Downtown. the Westlake traffic engineer already seems determined to slow things down on the main arteries.
  17. I hear they want to have a huge rooftop bar for when they open (mid-2017)
  18. The current owner's strategy = demolition by neglect.
  19. Hopefully the City won't let him demolish the historic building.
  20. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20140713/RENEWSLETTER/140719926/1276/newsletter07 NY Spaghetti House in downtown Cleveland changes hands " ...but they will try to get a city OK to demolish the restaurant." Lou Frangos "He insisted his brother paid him real money for the quaint but dilapidated building."
  21. Nice video. But Phase II is a different consideration and pot of money than the Cav's. I hope Phase II happens, but I would not bet on it.

  23. This would be more appropriate:
  24. Are they still moving forward anyway??
