  1. Cass Tech, along with 13 other schools are supposed to be demolished next month :( Cass Tech is downtown which is why I posted in this thread. But when I go to photograph the other schools I will put it in my thread for Detroit demolition. http://www.detnews.com/article/20091208/SCHOOLS/912080344/1409/METRO/Historic-Cass-Tech-faces-demolition-crew
  2. Sorry to dig up an old thread but I was walking by the building yesterday and was wondering what is the status of this? Some pictures for those who haven't seen lately...
  3. I just got back from a few days in Cleveland, I saw the Lancer Steakhouse burn down Sunday morning when I was driving around town. I took some pictures but since someone already posted some I won't.

Been wanting to visit Cleveland for the longest time and I have all next week off work. You wouldn't happen to be home from school this weekend are you?

  9. The Bearcats are in the Top 25 now. They are no. 22 in the AP and 24 in the ESPN/USA Today
  10. This obviously isn't located downtown but since there is already some discussion on the Michigan Central Station I thought I would post these here. There was a few articles in today's Detroit Free Press about how Nashville and Kansas City both had abandoned train stations and how they revived them. http://www.freep.com/article/20091129/NEWS01/911290415/1322/How-2-cities-revived-train-stations

I decided to use this thread like I do my huge Detroit one. This way I'm not making a new thread for a smaller collection of pictures. Recently I did some urbex in Flint, this is a historic school. I always know history on these places and names but I don't like to give them out on public forums. Some downtown pictures coming soon....
  13. I wish all wealthy people were more like him.
  14. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/11/the_ohio_department_of_transpo.html I was hoping someone could post or take pictures of the buildings in jeopardy here. As said in the article... *81-year-old trapezoidal-shaped Marathon gas station. *Cleveland Cold Storage Building on West 14th St, built in 1927. *Broadway Mills Building, built in 1894. ODOT plans to save brickwork and the large medallions from the building and use them in nearby retaining walls. *Non descript commercial structures
  15. ^Yup, Detroit peaked at 1.85 million in the 50s. In the 2000 census, they had 951,000. It is estimated that they have lost 129,000 people since then.
  16. Nice, I'm glad they are removing the panels on that building to restore the facade.
