Downtown Detroit in Danger of Demolition
^Most definately, I'm not sure if you've seen the building in person but the block will look so weird when it is gone. All that will be left is the 2 coney islands and that 3-story building.

Galesburg, MI
On my way home from Battle Creek and Kalamazoo we stopped in Galesburg. This town made me sad, it has certainly seen better days. But it received a large grant to revitalize its downtown. *Population 1,988 (2000 Census) *Kalamazoo County *Kalamazoo is about 10 miles west and Battle Creek 10 miles east.

Sorry for the blurriness. The 2 buildings in the first picture might be demolished. Believe it or not preservationists are really trying to save them.

Detroit- Old Redford
- Chicago- YWCA building
It doesn't sound like there is much hope for the 2-decade abandoned YWCA building. I made this thread to discuss what should be done with it and any updates on what will. http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/theskyline/2009/11/michigan-avenue-ywca-building-preservationists-strive-to-rescue-crumbling-landmark-.html- Mansfield Preservation/Demolition News
Does anyone have pictures of some of the houses the city wants demolished?- Kalamazoo, MI- Haymarket District

Kalamazoo has about 72,700 people. I was pleasantly surprised with Kalamazoo. I would have to say it is my 3rd favorite city in Michigan, after GR and Detroit.- Marquette, MI- part 2
Make sure you check out part 1. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,20924.0.html All these pictures are pretty much random, like buildings near the restaurant we ate at and driving around exploring the city.- Battle Creek, MI
*Population 53,364 (2000 Census) *Also known as Cereal City, home to Kelloggs headquarters Up next....Kalamazoo!- East Saint Louis, Illinois
