Nice town- Hancock, MI
Hancock is located across from Houghton. The Portage Lake Lift Bridge connects the 2 towns. I loved it here because the towns are on hills so you could be in one town and look across the see the other. *Population- about 4,900 *Large number of Finnish immigrants. *Home to Findlandia University These first couple pictures are from the Quincy Mine Smelter. Sorry about the quality, sun ruined them. Here we are at the Quincy Mine Headed down to the Mine!!!- Franklinton, Columbus

Sad but I like it a lot.- Marquette, MI- part 1
I went to the Upper Peninsula for almost a week. We spent 2 days in Marquette and 1 in Hancock and Calumet each. We even went all the way up to Copper Harbor in the Keewenaw Peninsula. The towns I post pictures of are going to look pretty dead, keep in mind that these were taken in October and it was pretty cold out. In the summer I'm sure Marquette is a pretty busy place. *Population- 19,661 (2000 Census) *Marquette is the seat of Marquette County *Largest city in the Upper Peninsula *Home to Northern Michigan University *Major port on Lake Superior *Averages 141 inches of snow a year- Evansville, Indiana

These next 2 are Harmonie Park, I'm wondering exactly what they are doing. Before this guy was built, I saw the fence go up around the old building on the corner and was wondering if it was going to be demolished. I'm glad it wasn't. I'm assuming they are going to fix it up and use it now. Not sure what is being built here...- Downtown Detroit in Danger of Demolition
Here is where the demolished building in Greektown was. ..and Lafayette- NASHVILLE - Part 1
