  1. I actually visited the park a couple weeks back and really liked it. All kinds of historic buildings. I am in Dayton regularly now that I have friends living there, I usually stay with them every other week. I will probably go back sometime and get pictures of these buildings. Deeds Barn- "Within the walls of Deeds Barn, Charles Kettering, Colonel Edward Deeds and other members of the "Barn Gang" spent many late nights upstairs working on inventions. Some of these inventions included the automobile self-starter engine and the ignition system created in 1912, which eliminated the need for "crank" engine starters." Miller House- built in 1806 and is the last remaining house from the Watervliet Shaker community. It will have Shaker artifacts. Hetzel House- old summer kitchen formerly located on Stroop Road. It will become a center for baking and weaving activities. Newcom Greer House- early residence from East Dayton. It will be moved next to the William Morris House to serve as a comparison between an urban and a rural dwelling in the 19th century. http://www.tcnewsnet.com/main.asp?SectionID=16&SubSectionID=261&ArticleID=150889&TM=61935.22

  4. These 3 buildings on Main caught my eye when I was in Dayton recently. They look nice on the outside but when I looked in the windows (sorry no pics) it looked terrible. Does anyone know the history of them and what their deal is?

  13. Here is a little article about 6 projects that have been approved for brownfield tax credits. I'm glad to see the Forest Arms apartments on there. There was a big fire a while a back http://www.flickr.com/photos/vanessamiller/2247376485/# I'm surprised to see the that the Scott Castle (James Scott Mansion) will be turned into apartments and condo's. I figured it would just sit there and get demolished one day. http://www.flickr.com/photos/detroitderek/2281128266/# I'm curious to know what 7 building near Eastern Market are being turned into townhomes and apartments.
