Farmington, Michigan
Recently I visited nearby Farmington for the first time. It was the nearest downtown to me that I have never seen. I arranged my visit so that I would be able to drop by the governor Warner mansion museum. If you are ever visiting Detroit or southeast Michigan then I suggest getting on Grand River and taking it west from Detroit. You will grow through many nice little towns including Farmington, Brighton and Howell (my favorite). There are also many others which I haven't been to yet. Part 1- downtown Part 2- Nice homes or places of historical importance Part 3- Gov. Warner Mansion Fred Warner was the first Michigan governor to serve 3 consecutive terms (1905-1911)

Sylvania
Yesterday I visited Sylvania with my mom because it is the town that she grew up in. We mainly go down to go to the cemetery that her parents and brother are buried in but we stopped downtown to get some pictures and at Sylvania's historic park also. Oldest depot in all of Ohio: Heritage Museum (former doctors house built sometime around 1860): Inside the Heritage Museum:

St. Ignace, Michigan
On our Mackinac Island/Mackinaw City vacation we also decided to cross the bridge and explore St. Ignace. We found a place called Castle Rock where you could pay 50 cents and you could go up many, many steps which would lead you to an incredible view of the area. Here are the pics from there: The rest are from random places we found:

Ypsilanti, Michigan..featuring Depot Town, EMU and Cross Street District
Is that Ypsilanti Regional Psychiatric Hospital? It's been abandoned for a while since a new one was built down the road. But it will get demolished soon if it hasn't already started for a dodge plant I believe. My brother and I urban explored the hell out of the place. Everything was left in it rather then taking it down to the new one.
