  4. The one on the west side of downtown you refer to is Captiol Park. The changes they made to it recently are great. The buildings around it have so much potential.

  9. I have been to several of Detroit's historic cemeteries but never seen one as vandalized as Woodmere. Many mausoleums had boards on them, stained glass missing or even doors wide open. List of notables buried there. http://www.woodmerecemeteryresearch.com/noteables.htm

  14. Work has begun at Cass Tech, bricks were taken of the facade to be salvaged. I've seen trucks in the back loading up computers and other equipment. Now a large fence is being put around it. :( Pictures coming later.

  16. I love antiques. I have a MASSIVE old postcard collection. I also collect anything relating to Detroit, I have old pictures, tobacco containers, books, etc.

    The huge town of Omer had a population of 337 in the 2000 Census. It is the self-proclaimed smallest town in Michigan.

  21. I was in Jonesville recently, my second time ever being there and I noticed a part of downtown at a street corner where I remembered there being some old buildings. I was wondering if they were just demolished or what but that must be where the fire was. Can you tell me anything about the fire in Jonesville?
  22. Nice pics! I would like to know about the brick building in ruins in the 8th picture from the end. What can anyone tell me about it?? (use, year built, year abandoned, etc.)
  23. Wibur Wright School is currently being demolished. I took these pictures of it in September.
