  11. I happened to be in town on September 7, which was when there was an estimated 85 fires. I saw one firsthand. Here is an old commercial building on Chene St.

  13. ^I've taken several pictures in recent weeks of both those buildings (Highland Towers and east Jefferson building). I'm pretty pissed about the Highland Towers, that was one of my favorite buildings in Highland Park. I'll try to upload pictures later.

    Some great buildings! I'm impressed that they rebuilt the one building after the fire. Also, that former Czech social hall is a beauty!
  17. Cheboygan (population 5,295 as of 2000 Census) is the county seat of Cheboygan County. Mackinaw City is located about 15 miles northwest of here.
  18. Here is an article on The Hotel Lafayette, currently being turned into a mix of banquet and restaurant space, a boutique hotel and apartments.
