Youngstown: Paramount Theatre to be restored

Maybee, MI
*Village in Monroe County *Population of 505 at the 2000 Census. One of Maybee's oldest building (1873) was just destroyed by a fire. You will see the building later in the thread. Here is the building destoyed by fire. It was built in 1873 and has been used as a bed and breakfast, dance hall and movie house. Right before the fire it was used as apartments, called home by 6 people. The owner really wants it saved and restored.

I got the idea to make a day trip to Homer a few other towns because recently a fire destroyed a Homer landmark. *Population of 1,851 (2000 Census) *Originally called Barneyville, named after its settler Milton Barney in 1832. *Homer is part of the Battle Creek Metro Statistical Area. My favorite building My dream house, which is for sale for $259,000 On Sunday the Homer Mill was destroyed by a fire. What the mill use to look like… Some info on the mill building. *16,000 square-feet *Built in the 1880s *Used as a mill until 1970 and shortly afterwards became a dinner theater. *Since 2006 used as a haunted house with a restaurant and bar. Present pictures of whats left of the mill.

The Former Romney home in Plamer Woods is on the cities demolition list. The 5,500 square-foot house is in Palmer Woods. 2 future governors lived there, George Romney (Michigan's 43rd in 1963) and former Mass. governor Mitt Romney. The AM&A Warehouse Lofts are set to open. The building was vacant for more then a decade and considered an eyesore. The building now consists of 48 apartments and 15,000 square-feet of Class A office space. The Monroe Street cemetery has been closed for safety reasons because a wall on the gatehouse collapsed. Check out the pictures in the article below.
