Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
mhmm interesting! I’m glad we are getting a tower regardless. I’m having trouble finding the link but I do know I read it yesterday!

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
The enquirer just published an article how the division group might want to build a 16 story tower above the foundry if growth demands it. Seems like a tower is closer to reality than it ever was before.

Cleveland: Retail News
It’s hard for me to imagine Detroit downtown population is that significant.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
This is exciting just for the sheer fact that it seems like the foundry will be a really bustling spot for day time activity due to the amount of jobs being landed at this location. So far, I believe the French restaurant and Jeff Ruby have been announced for the ground floor commercial spaces. I really hope they add something unique in addition to help boost night time traffic. I’m really crossing my fingers for a legit comedy club spot downtown and this would be the perfect location if 3cdc could ever manage to sign one. Even something like a high class night club would be helpful to boost night time traffic.

It’s been a beautiful transformation of the property. Looks very classy and glitzy. Anyone know when hard rock live is supposed to open?

Troeros2 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentCourt street lobster bar is shutting down. https://www.citybeat.com/food-drink/the-dish/blog/21157316/downtowns-court-street-lobster-bar-to-permanently-close-friday-cincinnati-restaurant-closure?utm_source=feature&utm_medium=home&utm_campaign=hpfeatures&fbclid=IwAR07D-uwndeISZTvsy_wu23eALYIVrDu0aJknPLxtKYUPwOpZzDFPKvbc0c Rising inflation, labor shortages, supply chain issues…it’s scary times for the service industry. I thought the onset of Covid was bad…looks like things aren’t getting better..if anything it appears they are getting much, much worse sadly.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Do we know who is financing the 20 million? Is 3cdc helming this project? Or someone else? Just curious where they plan on finding the 20 mill?
-
Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I would like 3cdc to maybe use that stretch to maybe throw some art festivals, live music, etc. This has the potential to be a really neat area if done right and help it’s current ghost town and desolate status outside of fcc game days. it would be cool if they could put up some small European cafes with take out windows.

Cincinnati: University of Cincinnati: Development and News
That’s definitely exciting. From what I understand there is already a pretty bad shortage of housing for the current UC population. Hopefully all in all this will attraction more outside developers and we might see some legit dense apartment and mixed use towers around Clifton popping up in the next 5 years. Also, kind of a pipe dream at this point, but I hope this will be a catalyst for the new Cincinnati mayor and council and UC to devise a plan to connect cbd to UC. Especially if UC continues on this trajectory of consistent UC attendance growth.

Cincinnati: University of Cincinnati: Development and News
So over/under on how UC current rise in college football and soon joining big 12 will affect the campus and the surrounding area? Still a bit early, but one can certainly think that UC has a legit shot to be in the top 4 and might even be the #1 team in the nation by the end of the season. If they play a championship game against someone like Alabama and even dare I say become national champions then I have to imagine this would have some affect on UC as a whole. That much national spot light attention would be absolutely insane for the university and practically unheard of. I read some recent articles about how local business around Clifton are really benefiting the rewards right now with UC rise in the rankings and how there is most definitely a buzz like never before. You see for many other universities how much benefits this brings to universities and a part of me is curious if this could be a catalyst of some sorts for even more new businesses to open around Clifton and potentially increase UC enrollment and have even more apartment and mixed use towers to be built around Clifton. What do you guys think?

Troeros2 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & Entertainmenttruly baffled by this choice…I know the spot was tiny but you would think their return on profits would be higher. im guessing otr rent prices + rising cost in labor and food have went up that didn’t make their tiny spot profitable anymore.

beautiful! Reminds me of the Jamaican bobsled movie from the 90s! I hope they add more!

I’d rather have mixed used development with retail and apartments there instead of all that land taking up a practice facility…

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Still not sure how it fits in the historic context of the neighborhood… people love to give fcc slack on their stadium looking out of place compared to its surroundings but I’m not sure why this alternatively gets so much praise. They both look equally look like alien spaceships compared to their historic surroundings.
-
Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Surprised no one has discussed the latest hcb packet…usually that gets brought up more but seems like y’all have been slacking lately lol. A few new otr infill projects in the latest packet including other projects…that said, the Jose Garcia east Liberty project is a doozy.

Where does otr adopt even get the funding for the legal fees associated with these kind of lawsuits? In total this could end up costing tens of thousands of dollars…pretty crazy for a lawsuit you know you won’t even win regardless.

Troeros2 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThanks for this post! As someone who has somewhat of a passion for commercial real estate developments, I’ve always been curious about this career. But how exactly does one get into this industry without previous experience? Also, is it very commission heavy? I’m someone who is quite fearful of commission heavy jobs because of how uncertain your income is month to month.

Absolutely perfect spot! They showed their spot at the banks but I can’t make out where that is? Any idea?

The new model Group central parkway infill project is on the latest hcb packet. I think the proposed rendering that was shown in the packet is kind of meh…

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Our convention site is probably one of the worst out of all mid sized cities in the mid west. Even dayton has a better set up than us. Convention shows are huge revenue drivers for the city and I would be absolutely baffled if they don’t have a connected dedicated convention hotel like you typically find with any major convention center. This is a big deal for a lot of wealthy stake holders so it doesn’t make any sense for these sites to remain empty lots.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
I trust 3cdc and that area around the convention center is top development priority…too many big players invested to keep this vacant for too long. Plus new mayor coming soon with a whole new council. I’m staying confident this will be vacant lot temporarily.
