good riddance. That’s a hideous building that has always stood out in the cbd like a sore thumb.

I’ve heard talks about it being an Art Deco 1960 theme but not sure how true that is.

Cincinnati: Bars / Nightlife News
Somerset is officially open as of Friday. Hours are 4pm to 2am. Again, some people will roll their eyes regarding the hype behind this bar…I get it..with that said, I stopped by Saturday and was gobsmacked by the attention to details and how the owners were able to transport you into a different world. It’s a theme style bar you would find in LA, NYC, Miami, Chicago, London, Hongkong, Singapore, etc…this is a genuinely a first for Cincinnati and I applaud this ownership group for what they have curated and achieved. I hope everyone gets to check them out soon and I simply cannot wait for their second themed bar experience on Main Street.

https://wearewalnuthills.org/carvana-presentation/?fbclid=IwAR1p60fc9N-WpoN8BTwFwHoVoftBTvbPZf8Xq0VTQV0-Ad1NdBhQx_d1zRs This is an odd proposal…car vana is requesting to build a carvana vending machine tower off of May Street and will be visible off of 1-71 North.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
Troeros2 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI was always under the impression that 3cdc was starting off with south of Liberty otr and then the plan was to ease there way south to court street/cbd… and create one large entertainment district that blends together from all the way to north of Liberty down down through vine street south of Liberty otr, cut through court street and head all the way down to the river. I think at some point, you will be able to walk through north of Liberty and down south through vine street and everything will be revitalized with shops, restaurants, small businesses and new infill/converted residential. I don’t think the plan is to have each area be a separate entertainment district island but one massive urban area where you can walk freely - north or south, east or west and will be confronted with revitalization in the form of businesses and residential.

Troeros2 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & Entertainmenthttps://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2021/09/08/mid-city-opening.html I know this is technically restaurant news, but I’m so glad the long fellows team is expanding into the restaurant business. The food at long fellows is really good! Im really ecstatic about the progress Court street is making. It feels like, slowly but surely, its becoming the entertainment district that it always had the potential of becoming.

would love to see new development on that triangle lot. No need for it be a park. It doesn’t ever get used.

Yeah I’m not sure where the no experience statement is coming from? ^ And construction is mostly wrapped up and they have publicly stated that the delays are because of permits that they are waiting approvals for. It’s okay to be excited for something. Everything on their social media shows a bar that looks top notch in the design and atmosphere department.

A second street corner market (same owner as the one at the banks) will open at the Dixie terminal on east 4th street. Glad the franchise owner is doing well enough business to warrant a second location!

Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
Yes, absolutely the best news out of all this! That said, adding nearly 500 new residents, along with the other expanding developments occurring around UC..and UC expanding their student acceptance population almost every year…most of these kids drive and are car dependent. Clifton/Clifton Heights will definitely hit a breaking point with parking spaces versus total population living there.

When is that giant grassy lot that has been vacant for over 20 years plus going to be developed? (The grass lot that’s across the cross roads church). I swear development has been promised there time and time again but always falls apart. Is the land just impossible to build on? It seems the land around UC is becoming quite in demand lately so I simply don’t get why such a large plot of land can sit with weeds for this long.

Apparently the church wants the church to be earth quake proof that’s why they decided to demo the tower…even though the last earth quake hasn’t occurred in 250 years lol. The church has also cut off all communications with the public even though money has been donated to save the tower and they can save the tower right now if they want..can someone say lawsuit coming their way?
