  1. This angle grows on me more and more every time I see it.
  2. Speaking from the architecture side, we typically ask for new soil borings regardless of what has been there for years previously. Who knows if the soil is mostly loose brick, debris, garbage fill etc. around the area, which may not necessarily work for new column spread footings or wall footings..
  3. The new building development sure is significantly reduced. And do we really need Public Square, the Mall and Edgewater Beach duplicated over here?
  4. Yay for non-smokey blue skies!
  5. Your story has been picked up by Yahoo Sports 😀 https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-browns-want-stadium-roof-005424132.html According to Ken Prendergast of NEOtrans, the Haslams have concluded that FirstEnergy Stadium is beyond renovation and that it was, “quickly and poorly built and may not be affordably retrofitted with upgrades like wider concourses or a roof, be it retractable or fixed.” Prendergast reported over the summer that the Haslams are eyeing a stadium with a roof as, “the city-owned stadium is used only 10-12 times per year; a retractable or fixed roof would allow it to be used more often.”
  6. My thought was it looked like all the cranes from the construction of Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.
  7. I'd say the Global Health Center, Convention Center, Hilton Hotel complex might rival this.
  8. Looks like it will only be inside the base part of the building (lower couple of floors), but outside the main tower.
  9. They probably don't have any concrete grade beams cutting through where the crane foundation is. I'm guessing the finished floor slab will just float over top of the crane foundation, which works here since there is no basement and no rooms requiring underground plumbing.
  10. Wasn't the Lumen all concrete construction? That's a different animal compared to the pace of construction as their is time needed for the concrete to cure before you can continue up. Steel, you just bolt or weld and off you go.

Thank you! Definitely a great vantage point to take great city photos. That's how I took my avatar photo of Terminal Tower.

Outdoor one on 44 about 7 or 8 years ago.

  14. Those certainly show how badly a new bulkhead is needed ASAP!
  15. Would be great if that was developed into some sort of cafe/ restaurant with a giant patio overlooking the park. Same set up as the Harp overlooking the Lake and Shoreway. Convenient for park goers to grab a drink or bite to eat.
  16. Agree. Also the Cleveland Metroparks taking control of Edgewater was a game changer. It's now an asset instead of an eyesore.
  17. Correct. Giant struts to hold back the retaining walls. Same thing with the diagonal corner braces you see in the upper left.
  18. That bridge looks like it should be unloading shipping containers. What a disgraceful design...so bulky and uninspiring....ugh.
  19. Sure are enough manhole structures. That could fill up a Walmart parking lot!
  20. Seems like all they do is take out trees in this City. Just kidding, I'll gladly lose a few trees for construction of this new tower as the trees can be replaced when the project is done.
  21. Is anyone else having trouble with the link to Ken's article?
  22. I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but are there only a certain number of TMUD awards each year, as in major competition?
  23. "semi-private, semi-public space" So how many times will the general public walk within this pavilion plaza, and try to open the front doors, only to have them jolted by locked doors? I understand SHW signage will obviously indicate it is a company's building.
