Cleveland - night shots
A few skyline shots at night. I really wish Cleveland would light up the jackknife & lift bridges again so that we could have the same view as this one I took in 2007. The Nautica Queen is fast approaching on the right.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
Usually, vacant buildings in need of change are targeted for this purpose. More recently, however, even those buildings with office tenants are being adapted or proposed for residential. This is a big difference. Now, residential is trumping office space, potentially pushing out office tenants in exchange for residents. At the Tower at Erieview, 10 floors of office space are currently being proposed to be converted. That building joins the Halle Building, Standard Building and The Residences at 1717 http://www.freshwatercleveland.com/features/commercialrealestateheatcheck092514.aspx That's news to me. Has this been discussed where 10 floors in Erieview would be converted to residential?

Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
^Yep, I see that from my office and it was a disaster. Or they need to eliminate one of those signals by the intersection. There is now three traffic signals within literally 300 feet of each other.

Apparently the high roller hotel guests or residents get primo parking. As the Nissan Skyline GT-R, Mercedes G box suv and further down, a Bentley indicate.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
Why would this project derail the May Co. project? It's not like this project is securing an office tenant away from May.

Based on the renderings, it appears that those ornate areas are meant to be a darker shade of red.

I love how they repurposed the individual safety deposit box doors on various bars, or as sculptures. I'm also excited to see how the main vault interior has transformed from what it was.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Perhaps this is a design concept that could warrant wider use around the city re: wind protection in colder months? I like it. It gives a sort of European feel in the old medieval parts of cities....Florence, Rome, London etc.

So, is E. 4th a laneway? Similar, but slightly different in spirit. Laneways are about reclaiming utilitarian alleys as intimate pedestrian spaces. East 4th has a great scale, but is a conventional street in the sense that its buildings have normal storefronts. Similarly it would be cool for Barn Ct. off of E 9th by The 9 to turn into a laneway as well.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
It looks like the section of E. 4th between Prospect and Huron will remain a vehicular street while the laneway is the passage to the east.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
I second that about transit. All great cities, especially European ones have piazzas with bus and car traffic. The main piazzas in Florence for example are loaded with bus, pedestrian and car traffic. They can coexist.

Though they appear to be coming from the Q in this picture, the laser beams were coming from the science center. Yep.- Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Hopefully the 'haus gets enough traffic to stay busy. This area, after the Warehouse District, is the next area that needs to be developed. All these parking lots is almost as depressing as the WHD. I pipe dream is for all those to be housing and retail while converting the Greyhound to a grocery store. Although I believe there is already one at the Reserve Square. - Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
