If that full list is current, that's a 25- to 30-story building's worth of residents. If only half of that list is current, that would still fill the previously proposed residential component of the Breuer Tower. :-D Or 515 Euclid :)
  2. Wow Detroit needs some serious help!
  3. And I bet the abundance of ignorance sways those that are in favor of many projects downtown because the negativity is rammed down their throats to where they finally cave and say "hmmm, it must be a waste. You are right ol ingnorant one"
  4. Just maintain all bus and other vehicle traffic around the perimeter and close the crossing Ontario and Superior sections as was mentioned above. Many cities with central public spaces have done this; The Piazza del Duomo in Florence, Italy for example. Yes that is only one example but it shouldn't be a big deal. No I have no civil engineering experience and no I have not done any traffic studies but that is my opinion.
  5. Where is the Fairmount?
  6. How about any of the establishments in Coventry? Maybe that's been done before.
  7. Is Cleveland’s answer to innovation blowing in the wind? Once known for massive steel mills belching smoke into the sky, Cleveland could one day be known as the center of innovation for clean, alternative energy with wind turbines lining the edge of Lake Erie and spreading west across the northern portion of the state. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_localcle/20110208/ts_yblog_localcle/is-clevelands-answer-to-innovation-blowing-in-the-wind

Effort to find designer for second Inner Belt Bridge in Cleveland begins next week CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Efforts to build a new Inner Belt Bridge have just begun, but it's not too soon to start designing a second one. The Ohio Department of Transportation will seek firms interested in designing a second bridge that will work in tandem with a bridge going up now. Together, they will replace the existing, 50-year-old span over the Cuyahoga River. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/02/effort_to_find_designer_for_se.html Huh? I thought the same designer and design was going to be used for both bridges?
  9. That's a bummer. I met my wife there. But at least the location will still remain a bar/lounge.
  10. Unfortunately you have to be subscriber to the NBJ to read that whole article :-(
  11. Actually that would be bad ass would that be to go back in time, pick an area and view as if you are standing in the street through Google.
  12. Another great path to take when out there is a covered bridge tour through Ashtabula County. There are something like 16 out there.
  13. Well there are at least two people on this article that believe their project will fail. http://www.tennessean.com/comments/article/20110119/COLUMNIST0304/101190337/Getahn-Ward-Cleveland-scores-first-in-medical-mart-race-with-Nashville
  14. “The emperor in Cleveland has no clothes,” said Cole Daugherty, a spokesman for the Nashville project. Oh really? Well in terms of financing then Mr. Daugherty it is the other way around.....Cleveland is dressed for the big dance while Nashville is waiting naked at the train station.
  15. At least there won't be a repeat of the John Hartness building's ugly skin.
  16. Cleveland medical mart talks up tenants on groundbreaking day By JAY MILLER 3:12 pm, January 14, 2011 Dirt was turned, photos were taken and about 600 community and business leaders applauded and cheered. Politicians including Gov. John Kasich, Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and new Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald spoke. Then, under an enclosed tent that was opened briefly, they wielded ceremonial gold shovels and construction on Cleveland's new, $465 million convention center and medical merchandise mart got officially under way. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20110114/FREE/110119869
  17. Since these are noted as tenants, aren't they considered leasing tenants or are these just the companies that have signed LOIs?
  18. So do we think MMPI will announce signed lease tenants or just their list of companies who have signed a letter of intent?
  19. Cleveland medical mart: Big-name tenants will be a ‘litmus test’ When the backers of Cleveland’s medical mart finally announce the project’s first planned tenants Friday at a ceremonial groundbreaking, savvy observers will scan the list for the identities of big-name “anchor tenants.” The reason is simple: Those anchor tenants will be crucial to the success of the $465-million project by luring buyers who’ll also visit the project’s smaller, lesser-known tenants. http://www.medcitynews.com/2011/01/cleveland-medical-marts-big-name-tenants-will-be-a-litmus-test/
  20. Exactly, when they demolished all those buildings and began site utility work.
  21. Santa at Hopkins At a bar in Florence, Italy
  22. More about Lastville is that the fact that before they can begin construction or even get financed, they have to receive lease commitments for 65 percent to 70 percent of the planned space. With their "planned" space being several times more than Cleveland's, I'd say it may take a bit longer to fill that percentage. Score one for Cleveland.
  23. More in depth article about the comments from Tom Murphy, former Pittsburgh mayor. Ex-Pittsburgh mayor: Cleveland medical mart a ‘shot in the dark’ As Cleveland's $465 million medical mart project inches closer to a groundbreaking, critics still question whether the pricey public investment is worth the untested concept's risk. One notable voice joining the conversation is former Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy, now a senior resident fellow at the Urban Land Institute, who spoke to Bloomberg News for a lengthy article about Cleveland's medical mart gambit. Murphy was mayor of the Western Pennsylvania city from 1994 to 2005. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_localcle/20101208/ts_yblog_localcle/ex-pittsburgh-mayor-cleveland-medical-mart-a-shot-in-the-dark
  24. Or too bad a potential hotel couldn't anchor the Huron/Ontario intersection.
