  1. The article says they are scaling down the project which allows them to be "first to market" a lot quicker than Cleveland or Nashville. Doesn't sound like a whole lot of good news to me. And yes we have financing in place while the others don't which is our leg up if you will.
  2. Richman Brothers in her former glory.
  3. Passing it everyday on my way home from work I have yet to see it churning.
  4. I wonder if there are efforts to achieve LEED certification for just this first phase or each building certified separately. I know previously this project was going to attempt to be certified as LEED-ND (neighborhood development)
  5. If this park does become reality, it'll be interesting to see how Wendy Park does. It may draw people away from there as the access to the EB is easier than getting to Wendy Park.
  6. GCRTA NYC subway Boston T San Francisco Cable Car/Bus Eurostar high speed train all over Europe Florence, Italy metro bus Rome subway Venice water taxi Paris metro subway Barcelona Metro Prague Metro Berlin subway Frankfurt U-Bahn Amsterdam tram
  7. The level of soot is indeed insane. It'll be nice to see the cleaned up and restored facade. Just as when the Old Stone Church was cleaned up how nice it was to see the orginal material color.
  8. It's sad to see that. It's as if mankind has been eliminated and the world is in an elevated state of deterioration. The movie "I Am Hero" comes to mind.
  9. why not just say the trains will travel 80 miles an hour instead of 79. People see the 7 first and think..hmmm slow. It's the same thing with purchase prices...$19.99 seems cheaper than $20 in most peoples minds at first glance.

    Location?
  11. Thanks for the updated photos. Seeing the damage that was done makes me want to go back to the 60's and bizitch slap the person(s) who thought that was a good idea.
  12. It is interesting to see what buildings were there before the Terminal Tower was constructed.
  13. I counted 3 logos :)
  14. yep. I thought the same thing after I posted it.
  15. Very true. I didn't have an elevation of the western facade so I had to make do with what I had :)
  16. Also no stairs on the Prospect side. I'm sure there are and the plan is meant as an apartment locater map and that's it. But they do show up on the Euclid side.
  17. “As to high-speed rail funds, the Senate committee provided $1.2 billion compared with the House’s $4 billion, and would prohibit the Federal Railroad Administration ‘from awarding grants until the agency has completed a national rail plan as required under the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act.’ As a result of the historic $8 billion for high-speed rail in the American Recovery and Reinvestment act, 40 states submitted 272 applications for over $105 billion of high-speed rail projects." Geez...you think there is a demand for rail transportation? We need a new generation of politicians in Congress to have some forward thinking for once. Congress...the opposite of Progress.
  18. Photoshop can be so much fun. I think it's a little short but cool to see the building somewhat resemble it at night. The curved glass part needs to be darkened with lights added. Maybe I'll play with it some more another time.
  19. Thanks for the pics! Glad to see the fugly skin coming off.
  20. In 2008, the company acquired Forest City Enterprises' interest in Network Parking of Cleveland and signed a long-term deal with Forest City to provide parking nationally, with the exception of New York City, according to a company release. As a provision of the deal, L&R gave Forest City "first-look" rights at L&R land holdings in 12 states, including Ohio. I wonder if FCE has a little influence in persuading L&R to drive a hard bargain for 113 St. Clair just to stick it to the county for not picking the TC site.
  21. I suppose I could post links to my vintage photo threads as to make this an all encompassing historic photo thread.

Probably pass on this one. Will be training for the MS150 bike ride. Maybe if there is a location more downtown next time I could attend.
  23. I LOVE these threads with old photos of Cleveland. This thread was started so long ago I didn't even know it existed.
