  1. I bet SW will be excited to be looking at a behemoth facade right at their doorstep.

Depending on the cost of infrastructure, although I'm going to assume each way, ripping out the street and sidewalks is the best alternative. But it's still going to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. I don't understand the big garage in front phenomenon either seicer. Depending on where you live it lowers your home value and is an awful feature when the house goes up on the market. The correct way is to make the living quarters more prominent, or locate the garage entries to the side of the house. It also comes down the the width of the lot. Some of these developments shoehorn as many lots as possible into a new street, thus not providing space for a drive to access a garage in the back.
  3. See...it could happen. A desert globe instead of a snow globe
  4. I assume they will burlap or protect all the plantings in the winter. The snow plows and salt will destroy all the landscaping.
  5. Since nothing seems outrageous to build there, they should just erect a gigantic bubble to air condition the city . Heck they already have an indoor ski slope. As long as this bubble is taller than the proposed Al Burj skyscraper. :-o http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Burj
  6. I'm not sure how the acreage compares to the Pittsburgh CC, but that one has upper floors that gradually cantilever out as it goes up. Might that be a possibility keeping in mind that there is a limit on how much to extend into the river. We wouldn't want collision bend to actually be collision bend.
  7. I'm actually surprised that residents chose to live at Quay 55. It is so removed from anything else. The nice lake views are pretty much it. Any reports on where the marina would move to or would it be no more? And good point on no rail access shown.
  8. They could potentially do this project on a fast-track basis. That allows portions of the project to begin, foundation work, before other portions of the project have been designed or completed. I'm not sure how that works in with the plan review, planning and zoning approvals though.

With all the gridlock going on in cities, how are they supposed to expand service if all the land is developed around them? Will we see a trend like the interstate system in the 50s where new tracks will have to run through existing communities, uprooting businesses and residents for new routes? I don't know the solution but this could get ugly unless other ideas come about.
  10. Amen MTS!
  11. ummm. I can't wait for the apple butter festival! yummmm Burton has a good one.
  12. Yep, Chardon. Love those maple syrup stirs. But nothing say weird and wtf than the Tiro, Ohio Testicle Festival, which I have never been to and don't plan to either. http://factum.blogspot.com/2004/11/tiro-testicle-festival.html http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=985806b0-d53f-490d-ad69-e6395d31f99b

A couple for today. Wish I had taken this one. Find how many horses are in this one. Find all the faces in this one.
  19. Wooster nevers seems to lack construction projects each year.
  20. tell me about it. I fear for my life when i have to cross Chagrin to walk to work after riding the Blue to the end.
  21. Great job rockandroller !!. RTA..put her on the payroll.
  22. Are you referring to Rubbermaid?
  23. Yep, as I writing that I thought the same thing. Just wasn't sure if there was another reason.
  24. What are they really gaining though by extending the Blue-line just that little stretch across the intersection? I could see extending it maybe to Harvard or futher if any work is to be done, but just 1/2 mile or so? The reduced scale of the Warrensville/Chagrin intersection is more pedestrian friendly. The only thing I would see as a reason is that if this area would be developed, that would be the time to at least extend it across the intersection in anticipation of future expansion. That way they've sort of "crossed the bridge" already and can continue on.
