Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
Excellent news! Mayday... thanks for bringing back the memories of Ren and Stimpy. I haven't seen that in a long time. Ok back on topic.

Peak Oil
Are there any rough estimates out there that suggest how many years remain until the oil supplies run dry, based on current consumption levels? That may not be possible as it could be very subjective.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I have never heard an automated announcement on the trains unless it is a new feature. I have to rely on my interpretation of the muffled, barely understandable stop announcement made by the operators. Or at least my familiarity of the area is what helps. It gets annoying and it is not good for people that don't ride often.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I purchased some all day passes awhile back. When I got around to finally using them, I noticed they said 'must be used by 6.01.08' Why the expiration date? I can see 'must be used by 12.31.08'. ??

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Not exactly current but from July 2nd

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
Just my opinion here... but probably the only thing I'm not a fan of is the dark purplish colored brick sidewalk pavers. I would have liked to see maybe a lighter colored brick instead of the dark colored ones. But that minor detail won't take away from the positives this project brings.

I'm lovin' it too! The building.. not McDonalds. Plus I can't wait until the other phases begin so this first building won't be so lonely anymore.

after uncovering the details of this building, I wonder what lies beneath the building to the right of 1021.

a couple of giant baskets
God help us if there was an office building shaped like a beanie baby or cabbach patch doll. A basket is bad enough.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
And you should've seen what the Powerhouse on the West Bank of the Flats looked like in the mid-1980s. It had no roof, no windows and piles of junk and tires illegally dumped in the center of its crumbling walls. There's a picture of it on here, I think in one of those great photo threads of Cleveland in the 1980s. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l293/juice95m3/3066.jpg Cleveland Press Knipper, Clayton Cleveland State University Library Special Collections Kind of like that huh.

Cycling Advocacy
Too bad they don't make those red, white and blue plastic streamers that went in the end of the handlebars, any more! :-D Sounds like the right bike for the job, KJP. Seven speeds is plenty for city riding, and the Schwinn frames are solid and trouble-free. Don't forget to get a bell, to warn pedestrians who wander around on the path in a blissful daze. A Nathan five-chime locomotive horn would be more fun, but the air tank and compressor would be unwieldy. now you can train for the MS 75 mile Pedal to the Point. Oh and don't forget the playing card that hits the wheel spokes as you ride. An added cool sound effect. ;)

Erie, PA: Downtown & Waterfront
wow! Nice set. I've always had a negative impression of Erie but this post has changed that. Now if only we could email a pic post of Cleveland to all the people in the nation with a negative impression of our city, that could be great.

I concur sir. Love this one too!

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Great idea! A bus from say Strongsville only travels to Brookpark and back instead of all the way downtown.

Capri, Italy
Yes there were trails you could take around the island, although they were mostly paved so it wasn't really hiking. At least the trails we took were paved but rather hilly.

Capri, Italy
Just a few pics from when I was in Capri many years back. Enjoy. From what I've heard, those rocks on the horizon were the site of the pirate ship escaping the cave at the end of the movie Goonies. I can't confirm that though.
