  1. We are going to stay on top of this so that if you see staining like this when you come for a visit, you can let us know if it's similar to what you've seen in our report. Very proud of you WEWS. Better call Carl Monday over from Ch. 19 to help staff your CSI staff.
  2. The Leader could use an extensive bath as well.
  3. Looks like the 20th floor has the "red light district" room available. The building looks sweet by the way.
  4. Plain Dealer version by Michelle. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/05/jacobs_investments_aims_to_bui.html#incart_m-rpt-1
  5. You make it sound like the S&S Monument is being demolished and the entire PS is being redeveloped with new buildings. The historical context of four quadrants and wide as hell streets doesn't have to remain just because it has been that way for years. IIRC, at one time PS was only two sections. Let's embrace the new and exciting changes to our main public space. Ok I have continued the off-topic tangent. Resume construction renovation discussions.
  6. While I applaud the Fowler's for donating this money, I agree....these would not be my first choice.
  7. I think we've beat the actual building height topic to death. Regardless of the heights, it's hopefully going to be a really exciting time in the next 5 years or so. Berlin was once known as the city of cranes or maybe still is. Maybe Cleveland can steal that nickname for a bit. https://worldpittsburgh.wordpress.com/2013/05/13/a-return-to-berlin-part-2/
  8. The renovated 925 Building will include 580 full-sized apartments plus 93 micro-apartments – small living spaces available to companies and workers participating in a business incubator planned for the building's sixth floor. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/12/former_huntington_building_win.html
  9. Almost appears that they plan balconies on the interior light wells? Hotel lobby off of Euclid.
  10. I had access to this great building on Saturday and took a few photos. The basement vault is ridiculously huge. There were also new plans for the renovation project that just happened to be sitting on an easel. Backside of JHB buildings
  11. It's interesting how there was such a stink about the Indian head on the exterior sign, yet it still shows up as an etching or whatever in the glass doors.
  12. Something else. Moxie is on Prospect west of E. 9th. Wild Eagle is east of E. 9th on Huron.
  13. ^That was a CSU directive to have all that green space, not the architect imposing that site layout on CSU.
  14. Are the Drury Plaza rooms really intended to be a hip, modern décor though? The tile color could have been better but I'm guessing their intent is a more classy look?
  15. ^Based on the cross section....no chance at all. Looks like a retail potential facing the viaduct.
  16. Apartment building, 11 floors or taller, proposed for west bank of Cleveland's Flats (photos) CLEVELAND, Ohio – More residential construction could be coming to the west bank of the Flats, where an investor group wants to replace an old industrial building with apartments that could stretch 11 floors or higher. Downtown Ventures LLC has a contract to buy 2208-2210 Superior Viaduct, a two-story building wedged between the old bridge and Washington Avenue. Documents submitted to the City of Cleveland show a 64-unit apartment building on the 0.3-acre site. Those plans won very early approval – a conceptual thumbs-up – from the Cleveland City Planning Commission last week. "There already is some residential momentum in the area," said Daryl Kertesz, a member of Downtown Ventures and a principal at Activity Capital in Woodmere. "We feel that the greater west bank of the Flats is going to be the next frontier." Kertesz wouldn't identify his partners in the project, which would be an ambitious addition to an eclectic neighborhood where the Stonebridge apartments and condos - built before the recent recession - sit near longtime industrial properties, preservation projects, entertainment venues and future outdoor recreation areas http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/02/apartment_building_11_floors_o.html#incart_river_home

The old Bridgeview Crossing site off of Transportation Blvd, north of I-480? The retail site crashed during the recession but right off highway and visible. Not sure who controls that site.
  18. A response from Verne in the comments section... Brian Verne > Morris Wheeler • 6 days ago Hey Morris! Our goal is to return to Cleveland just like ExpenseBot did after TechStars Boulder, and more importantly, use the 500 experience as a means to help other CLE entrepreneurs pursue their dreams. Hope all is well!
  19. Well obviously the alternative of something getting built rather than the lot sitting empty is much better.
  20. Hudson Holdings, owner of former Huntington Building, buys Statler Garage in downtown Cleveland CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Hudson Holdings, the owner of the former Huntington Building on Euclid Avenue, has purchased the nearby Statler Garage to secure parking for a $280 million redevelopment project. Andrew "Avi" Greenbaum, a Hudson principal, confirmed that his company bought the 315-space parking garage in a transaction that closed late Monday. Public records related to the sale haven't popped up yet, but Greenbaum said the purchase price was $6 million. The garage, at 1111 Euclid Ave., sits just west of the Statler Arms apartments. It's not connected to the former Huntington Building, now called the 925 Building. But the parcels of land beneath the buildings actually do touch. And the empty John Hartness Brown Building complex, which separates the 925 Building and the garage, could be up for grabs. The JHB property, once earmarked for a Le Meridien hotel, is the subject of a foreclosure dispute in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court and is under the control of a court-appointed receiver.
