  1. Earlier we were discussing what it's going to look like around here by summer... If you take all the projects currently under construction and add all the projects about to get underway, then take all the current road construction and add all the infrastructure projects (The City of Columbus has at least 87 projects ready to go) that the Biden Infrastructure Law will fund, the entire city is going to basically be one big construction site! We cannot wait to see what this place looks like in 6 or 7 months!!
  2. There's a couple interesting quotes in the Dispatch today discussing how much Intel will impact northeastern Franklin County and Licking County: "Pat Guanciale, a GLC board member and real estate agent with Coldwell Banker King Thompson, said it’s amazing to look at the growth of Chandler, Arizona, since Intel came to that community." "Chandler had 30,000 residents when Intel first opened a facility there in 1980. In September, Intel broke ground on its fifth and sixth semiconductor fabrication facilities in Chandler. The Arizona city’s population grew to 90,703 in 1990, then 179,577 in 2000, and 236,123 in 2010. It’s population this year is estimated at 273,102. Rows of $1 million houses sit across the street from Intel, Guanciale said." "Hebron Mayor Jim Layton said he talked to someone from Oregon, who said, “Your wildest dreams are half of what’s going to happen.” "Intel has seven campuses in Oregon, six in the city of Hillsboro, which has a population of 111,909. Hillsboro grew from 38,983 in 1990, to 71,346 in 2000, and 91,611 in 2010." https://dispatch-oh.newsmemory.com/?token=1bc19df92dceaed76b4dcd90645c3a63&cnum=0b7d0e5f-fe67-eb11-9acf-90b11c3bc1f2&fod=1111111STD-0&selDate=20220320&licenseType=paid_subscriber&
  3. This is great news. There is such a need for more ice around the entire Metro.
  4. Are they still starting with the north site first?
  5. New Albany Co. buys more Licking County land near Intel semiconductor site "In anticipation of growth beyond the proposed Intel factories, the New Albany Co. has bought hundreds of acres near the Intel site in Licking County over the past few months." "Under the entities MBJ Holdings and MCVGCM Holdings, the company, which is spearheading the Intel land acquisition, has paid more than $20 million for about 400 acres near the land planned for Intel's semiconductor factories." "The acquisitions are in addition to about $30 million that the New Albany Co. has paid so far to buy more than 40 properties in Intel's proposed footprint. More purchases are expected as land is assembled for Intel to start construction this year." https://www.dispatch.com/story/business/2022/03/17/land-purchases-prep-new-albany-co-development-intel/7037821001/

  11. And here I thought I was the only one left not on Instagram or Twitter! Lol
  12. And for whatever reason, that seems to take forever. It took a really long time to get the single power line down that went across the middle of the property at 4th and 5th.
  13. More news on Rickenbacker: "Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park will unlock about 320 acres for industrial development by 2023." 15. Someone beat me to it lol. But there's a quote above as to why they may have to scale down the project.
  16. I loved the original design as well. I don't think it's "dead". But I think I read that it could end up being scaled down. I will try to find you the link.
  17. Didn't they say at the time that they didn't have full control of the area where the patio is to go? I'm pretty sure they said at the time they announced the project that they may have to scale down the patio depending on how negotiations go.
  18. The first fab is supposed to bring 3,000 jobs. I read typically this kind of facility also produces 13 spinoff jobs for every job they bring. That would be around 40,000 jobs from the first fab.
  19. From The Dispatch: Intel posts first job openings for its $20 billion New Albany chip factory. "Intel has posted its first job openings for its $20 billion project in Greater Columbus that the semiconductor company announced last month." "The jobs include civil/structural engineer, construction environmental safety engineer, basebuild project manager, chemical/process construction project engineer, design manager, architectural project engineer and electrical project engineer, according to the company's website." https://www.dispatch.com/story/business/2022/02/09/intel-hiring-engineers-gears-up-construction-begin/6718902001/
  20. It will be in front of the Menards. Last I heard they plan on around 15 locations in Franklin County
  21. I might just be thinking of Bojangles now because we finally found out today where the first location in Columbus will be (Hilliard Rome Rd) but am I the only one who thinks of Bojangles when they read her name?
  22. "Delaware City Council held its first discussions on the highly-scrutinized Addison Farms development during Monday’s meeting. The approximately 273-acre mixed-use development, proposed by Addison Properties for the city’s northwest region." https://www.delgazette.com/news/94558/officials-talk-addison-farms
  23. Totally agree. I'd love to see the intersection of 11th Ave and 4th St focused on for redevelopment soon as well- the northwestern and southwestern corners especially. I have noticed recently that stuff is currently being moved out of the old nasty building at the northwest corner. Hopefully it comes down sooner rather than later.
  24. Speaking of what "Honda did to Marysville but bigger", someone quoted in a Dispatch article today said this: "In my 31-year public-service career, it’s always been about jobs, economic development and growth,' Hottinger said. 'This is larger than Honda and Wright Patterson combined. That puts it in perspective." https://dispatch-oh.newsmemory.com/?token=fecf4f8f80a0a7c08dc9268d1c48d032&cnum=0b7d0e5f-fe67-eb11-9acf-90b11c3bc1f2&fod=1111111STD-0&selDate=20220123&licenseType=paid_subscriber&
  25. They said Intel wanted the site to have extra land for future expansion
