Most of Quarry Trails Metro Park are set to open Nov 30 From The Columbus Dispatch- "With a flurry of work to finish projects, Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks will be opening most of Quarry Trails Metro Park on Nov. 30. “This is going to be like an urban Hocking Hills experience,” said Larry Peck, Metro Parks deputy director. Metro Parks had planned to open 60 to 100 acres of the 220-acre park by mid-October. But it’s taken a bit more time than officials thought, including figuring out a safe route for visitors to walk between the north and south ends of the park as work continues at the site. But Peck said that on Nov. 30, close to 200 acres will be open." I can not wait to go check this out!

Its interesting. The old K-Mart building on Stringtown is being redeveloped right now too. If I'm not mistaken, these were the last two old K-Mart buildings left in Franklin County?

Lots of projects in that general area are moving along at a nice pace for sure... Kenny and Lane area moving quick too. 1550 Kenny is vertical now as well, but I still don't recall ever seeing renderings for it? It looks like it will be five stories. You'll definitely see lots of progress all around. Make sure to loop around the new high school too. Things are moving quick there as well. Work has started on the softball/baseball complex area. That high school is impressive.

This is going on the old K-Mart property. Any word on when the rest of the developments on that site are supposed to start?

Looks like Scioto Downs will be significantly upgrading their grandstands! I was on Twin Rivers Dr earlier and noticed the Swan St connector behind this is completely built now. This whole area is really coming together nicely!

And since the new sheet will be on the east side, I think it will be interesting to see if one (or both) of the Pickerington High School's add hockey as well, setting up a nice little rivalry out east.

Me too. There is always a need for more sheets of ice across the city. Especially in that part of the city. The article mentions Reynoldsburg High School will add a varsity hockey team too which is a good thing for the area. It will give schools like Upper Arlington another local team to play.

I was out on Hamilton Rd at Broad yesterday. I can't wait til they get all those apartments buildings tore down. It will really breathe some fresh air into that corner. Any idea when they're going to start knocking all those down?

Couldn't get any pics, but the Northeast Gateway Project is really coming along nicely too. I went through there Friday, and crews were working on some of the decorative brick walls, like the one pictured below.

Last I heard it was off the table, at least for now. I haven't heard a single peep about it since.

I saw they tore the Main Bar down today, but didn't have a fence up. Not sure if I've ever seen a structure tore down without fencing up. I assumed they had to have one up for safety reasons? No?

Anyone have any renderings of what the bridge on John Herrick Drive will look like after they finish rebuilding it? Since it's located so close to Ohio Stadium and a few bike paths too, i was hoping it will have a "pedestrian crossover" underneath it like the bridge on Lane Ave has.
