  1. Nice!! I drove back through the entire site and there seems to be a lot of activity in many areas of the property. It looks like crews are prepping another spot near the small pond that was along Kenny. There also appears to be an area on Arthur Adams Dr behind the EWI building that also looks like a new building will be going there as well (although it's hard to tell for sure because of the fencing around it). Between this huge project and Arlington Gateway, this area is going to be a lot of fun to keep in eye on for the next few years!
  2. I was just out at Kenny and Lane... Wasn't able to get a pic but noticed crews appear to be prepping the very corner of the property for another new building!
  3. I was thinking that could be the reason too.
  4. I was just on West Broad going through Franklinton about an hour ago and I noticed there's fencing up around the buildings at 606 W. Broad and 630 W. Broad (these are the blue buildings just east of 315). Anyone know if there are plans to tear these down soon?
  5. Was at UAHS today... The old high school is just about completely down now. Crews were also clearing out the area where the new baseball and softball complex will be.
  6. Noticed today that the remodel of South Wind is now underway!
  7. Any idea what's going on with the building kind of behind this at the corner of Washington Ave along Topiary Park? (I think it might be the one that caught fire?) Everytime I go back there to check it out, it seems like nothing has changed. Recently, there has been what appears to be workers parked there, but I still don't see much (if any) movement?
  8. There's also a new Parsons Road exit off of the freeway. I live in Merion Village and it's very convenient for us. We can now exit at Parsons and use it to get to the "back side" of Merion Village, cutting out all the traffic on High St.
  9. There was also some rumblings of the Superior Maintenance Building (across Livingston from the research building currently under construction) coming down for a new development as well. Anyone heard anything about that lately? https://goo.gl/maps/dRsXyoQeax2AGKpT8
  10. I was coming south on 71 the other day and as you approach Children's, it's straight ahead in your view as well... Once that freeway rebuild is finished through there, along with all the new development at Children's the difference will be night and day!
  11. Just spoke with one of the workers that are currently renovating this building. Although he said he isn't 100% sure, he "thinks" they are planning on opening a gyro place here soon.
  12. It will also be interesting to see what happens with the old Graham Ford property at 707 West Broad Street too. (I can still hear that jingle in my head! Lol)
  13. Agreed. I purposely went that way earlier to see if it is going vertical yet and it doesn't appear it's at that stage quite yet
  14. Thought I would throw these in here in case you guys haven't seen them... They are pictures from around the city comparing ten years ago to today. Part one: https://allcolumbusdata.com/how-columbus-ohio-has-changed-in-10-years/ Part two: https://allcolumbusdata.com/columbus-ohio-before-and-after-photos/
  15. A new development now officially under construction at 76 E. 9th Ave. will add 143 student apartment units to the Weinland Park neighborhood, near Gateway University District and the Ohio State University campus. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/10/01/new-student-housing.html I didn't realize construction had already started on this?
  16. We recently saw the former owners of Explorer's Club (restaurant in Merion Village) out and about and I suggested (maybe even begged a little) that they should try to grab a spot here. Unfortunately, I don't think its gonna happen... It would be amazing to be able to get their chili relleno's again. Sorry guys, I tried. 😥
  17. Heavy machinery now on site at old Cousins Army and Navy store! I'm assuming its days are numbered...
  18. Next time you're at Broad and High, make a conscious effort to look out toward Gravity 2.0 (preferably as you drive west on Broad). It actually looks even more impressive because you're up at the top of a small incline from the river. Also, another real nice view is on Marconi Blvd just before you get to Broad.
  19. Just came back downtown going west on Broad from Bexley. You can now see this building in the distance before you cross 4th. But it's really noticeable once you pass 3rd. And there's still about two more stories to go! Having taller buildings throughout the eastern part of Franklinton is going to make a dramatic difference. (...and i know it's a later phase but I can't wait to see it once The Peninsula extends to the other side of Broad!)
  20. I went through there Friday evening to check progress. Nothing is going vertical as of yet. The main activity back there right now, as far as I could tell is focused on the new park going in along the river next to the new pedestrian bridge.
  21. More projects around the stadium are already approved and should start to go vertical this fall. Assuming you don't get back til next season, things should look quite different back there by the time you get to see it next!
  22. Just went through campus and noticed fencing is now up around the entire project footprint... I'm assuming Cousin's and the other nearby buildings will be coming down relatively soon!
  23. Last I heard, they're supposed to break ground this fall.
  24. I wasn't sure of the exact boundaries either... But it was great timing because I had just looked it up last night and posted the boundaries in another discussion.
