Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAccording to The City of Columbus: "The Warehouse District is bound by I-670 and the Conrail railroad tracks on the north, Grant Avenue on the east, Long Street on the south, and N. Third Street on the west." "The Warehouse District, located north and west of the Discovery District, is in close proximity to its many institutions and public buildings. Columbus State Community College borders the district on its east; Columbus College of Art and Design on its south. Many other significant institutions located in the Discovery District are within walking distance of the Warehouse District planning area."

Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSounds like a lot of that area is owned by this company... This is from the article: "The project would be part of the developer's broader investment in the area, which includes 10 buildings and about 15 empty lots along Neilston, North 5th Street, Mount Vernon Avenue and the large "Icehouse" building at 260 E. Naghten St."

Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI know it won't happen, but I wish Abbott would sell their property downtown and relocate a little further out... Do they also own that big grassy area where all the semi trucks are parked near there?

Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think most consider the "warehouse district" to be the area out by Rickenbacker, where dozens and dozens of warehouses are clustered together. But there is a smaller "warehouse district" on the northern side of downtown. This is what the dispatch says about the area: "Even though the warehouse district itself has not seen a lot of recent development, the building is near a growing number of new apartments along East Long Street, along with restaurants and bars on N. 4th Street."

Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionMajor event space and restaurant planned for downtown: "Hackman Capital Partners, based in Los Angeles and with offices in Worthington, plans to convert the 33,000-square-foot office and warehouse at 225 Neilston St. into the venue, which would include a large outdoor patio in what is now an alley on the north side of the building." https://www.dispatch.com/story/business/2021/08/20/columbus-restaurant-entertainment-venue-proposed-downtown/8185474002/

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI went to the open house and was thinking the same thing. There's a ton of places where kids goofing off could take a turn for the worse very quickly. Even in the library, there's an area with "big steps" for people to sit on and read. I was thinking I could see a lot of potential trips to the nurses office if students aren't paying attention and being careful.

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThere's *a lot* more construction equipment on site here in the last week or two than there has been for the last few months. Things seem to really be "catching another gear". I'm excited to see what this area will look like in two or three years.

I was on 5th Ave today and noticed that (if this gets approved as proposed) the spot where Grant Ave will connect has a new sign in front saying "financing provided by Heartland Bank".

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionJust got back from the open house at UAHS... I can't imagine better high school facilities anywhere in the state. A couple of the areas that really stood out to me were the performance arts center and the fieldhouse. The fieldhouse includes six basketball courts. It's much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. I came away very impressed.

I've spoke with a couple people that have got to take a sneak peek, and they say it's going to be quite the home for the Golden Bears.

Unfortunately, i believe so. :(

Columbus: Franklinton Developments and News
I noticed recently they are up to floor six on this building. As you look west toward Franklinton from the other side of the river (in multiple locations), this building is about even with the treetops now. As floor seven gets built you will begin to be able to see it in the distance! It's going to have such a different feel through that area when a couple of these developments are fully built out... I can't wait to see how this all unfolds!

Columbus: Random Development and News
Luvcbus replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThat's so funny- I take tours at least once a week. And make my SO (and sometimes my mom or brother) go with me at least half the time! Lol I always wonder how many others do this and how often. There's certainly a lot of sh¡t going on all over the city to check out these days.

I was wondering if that could be it. I was hoping maybe he was talking about something else since there will already be at least two Sheetz in Delaware by the time this proposal would even get approval.

Delaware / Ohio Wesleyan University: Developments and News
From the article, this caught my eye: "Regarding the potential inclusion of a gas station in POD H, Addison Properties President Jason Friedman said with a coy smile, “It has a gas station (on the plan), but it’s much more than a gas station user that is interested, and it’s very, very interesting. There are some more good things to come, I think.” Any speculation on what he might be hinting at?
